Product Overview

Henry 555 aluminum roof coating is an ultra-premium fibered aluminum roof coating that forms a shiny, tough, reflective surface. It can decrease heating and air conditioning costs and keeps the inside temperature of a building up to 20 degrees F cooler in summer. This coating is designed for use on the roofs of barns, homes, garages and mobile homes.

California residents: see   Proposition 65 information

  • Seals hairline cracks and pinholes to help increase water resistance of the roof and prevents leaks
  • 7-year warranty
  • For metal, smooth or mineral surface roll roofing, SBS and APP modified roofing, and evaporative coolers
  • Over brushing will interfere with leafing action of the aluminum, so apply to a dry surface; application to a damp surface will cause this product to appear brown
  • Mechanically mix thoroughly before and during application, apply with a good quality soft-bristled brush or commercial-grade spray equipment, apply liberally brushing in one direction only and do not lap

Answer:
Rooter-I have copied the coverage rate information below for you taken off our data sheet on henry.com.
Approximately 1.25 - 2.0 gallons per 100 square feet. As roof slope increases, coverage rate should be reduced to prevent run-off or slippage.

Bob-we do not recommend applying any roof coating on shingled roofs as this voids the shingle manufacturers' warranty. Thank you for putting your trust in the Henry Company and The Home Depot.

Answer:
Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. Yes; torch down is just referring to how the rolled roofing/bitumen is applied to the roof. We recommend cleaning as usual and mix thoroughly before applying. Also, be sure to brush in one direction only. We hope this will help with your project.
We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 18 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best bang for buck for people on limited budget...one coat! Bought one 4.75 gallon pail and one 0.9 gallon can to coat a 12 x 70 mobile home roof. I ended up with approximately 1/2 gallon left. I used a flat 9.5 inch tampico fibers roofing/asphalt brush to brush it on the roof. Tampico fibers hold plenty of product, and there is no way I would roll this on. Brush it on, and that's the recommend way to do it. No need to use a three knot tampico fiber brush because I did not have that many vent pipes to coat around. Used a 1/2 electric drill, and a mixing attachment to help get it mixed. Used a paddle too during the mixing because the attachment will ball up with aluminum, so just use the mixing paddle to scrape it off, and then mix it with the paddle some too. You can mix with just a paddle, but it will take longer to get it mixed good. It will look like liquid aluminum when mixed thoroughly. The 555 only requires one coat. The white stuff requires two coats, so the Henry 555 will save a lot of money if you have to pinch pennies like I had to do. The 555 offers 53% initial reflectance, and I think it was 42% after three years. The 555 is listed on the Cool Roof Rating Council that tests these type of products. The Henry white stuff is rated at about 70% reflectance after three years. I think the 555 is a good bargain for the money spent albeit at a reduced sun reflectance. It does produce a brilliant aluminum color, that looks really good on the roof. Neighbor was wanting to know what it was. The 555 is a better bargain than the cheaper aluminum roof coating. You do get what you pay for with the 555. Highly recommended for people on a limited budget! May 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good sealer Brushed off 30 year heavy guage rusting roof on my 57 year home and it cover beautifully and looks great. April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product I used this Henry Aluminum Coating to paint 100 feet of chain link fence. Although this product was designed for metal roofs it looks great on my fence and I am hoping it lasts at least 5 years. May 3, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good purchase. neighbor had no problems applying it. the roof coating applied easily. The neighbor had no problems applying it. April 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by best product around I have been using this product for a long time it lasts longer than any other I tried lowes and several other ones . the price doubled when the price of aluminum went up and now that the price of aluminum went down the price stayed the same. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Roof Covering Ever! Tar and tar paper didn't stop the leaks on my flat roof, but, this coating did! December 29, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JUst put it on our metal roof over a picnic shelter. Went on easily and smoothly. I liked the product. Waiting to see if it is durable. October 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT !!! .Have used this paint for yrs. on OLD garage roofing...it covers all leaks...no more rain dripping into shop. YEAH. Would recommend for anyone needing this kind of coverage. Regular aluminum paint just doesn't work for this kind of application. You do need to get brush sold for use with this .( Most any long handle will do ) June 14, 2015
