I have used mine to clean my truck and engine. Care needs to be taken in the engine compartment when cleaning around the electrical components but it can be done.

With a small gasoline engine it is more important to know how long it has been since you used it last. The gasoline breaks down if it sits in your engine for a long time and it clogs your fuel filter and your carburetor. If none of this means much to you, then you need to find a mechanic. If you are comfortable doing minor work on the engine, then try putting fuel injector cleaner in your tank (follow the directions) or spraying carburetor directly into your carburetor. You can also try spraying Starter Fluid into your air intake and the engine may start and then clean itself. DO NOT use Starter Fluid unless you are familiar with it both because it is explosive and because it can ruin your engine. What I am saying is the motor is probably not the problem, but the way you store it makes all of the difference in the world. Going forward (after you get it running again) the best way to store the motor is to drain the tank and let it run until it is completely out of fuel. The next best is to use a fuel stabilizing additive (buy Fuel Stabilizer in any automotive store) and this reduces this fuel break down. It also helps to run the motor at least once a month, but with a pressure washer you must also connect it to water before you start it or you can damage the pump. I know this is a long answer, but it is not a simple question and it involves many issues. I hope this helps.

2700-PSI 2.3-GPM Gas Pressure Washer is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 103.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Pressure Washer This pressure washer has some really nice features. - It starts easily. Usually with only one pull. - There is onboard storage for the different nozzles making changing them really convenient. - It has a lot of power and cleaned my driveway nicely. It removed some paint that I spilled with no problem, - The fuel tank is large and it runs a long time on a tank of gasoline. - It has a fuel shut off valve that I turn off when finished. This is a really good product that has many nice features and will easily handle all of your cleaning chores.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Attention To Details Very well thought pressure washer. It has nice onboard storage for the assortment of nozzles, quick start instructions on the handle for those of us with short memories, nice storage for the wand and hose, a large fuel tank and a fuel shut-off valve that you can use when you store the washer. Assembly took just a few minutes and it was ready to use. Put the wheels and handle on, add oil and you are ready. It starts easily. Always on the second pull and has really good pressure - It cleaned dripped paint from my driveway that my old washer wouldn't clean. Be careful using the zero degree nozzle. So much pressure it cut a small groove in the driveway when I held it too close. The quick change nozzles are great and can be changed quickly with the quick coupling on the end of the wand. Overall a fantastic pressure washer that I highly recommend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Washer leaked like a sieve. Box was very beat up and dented at the store, but it was the only one left, so I reluctantly purchased it. Brought it home, set it up, and filled it with oil and gas. Once I started it, the pump leaked like a sieve because the manufacturer apparently forgot to install the gasket. The "funny" part was there was a QC sticker right next to the leak.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product for the money Overall this unit is worth the money. For all the bad reviews listed all I can say is these people don't know much about small motors or outdoor equipment! First of all, like any small gas motor, lawn equipment, outboard etc., if you use ethanol gas it will eventually eat the rubber and plastic tubes and the motor won't start or run very long after awhile. For outdoor equipment, you must use recreational fuel or completely empty your tanks and run the carb dry when finished using it. With this Homelite, there is a gas shut-off that should be turned off and let the engine run the fuel out of the carb before storage. This will save you from having future issues and rebuilding the carb etc. whether you use ethanol or recreational gas. Starting the engine when cold you put the gas shut-off to on, put on the choke, and the engine will start normally. I have a switch on the hose so water is not entering the pump when starting otherwise it will be difficult or near impossible to pull the starter. When the engine starts, shut the choke off and turn on the water supply. When starting a warm engine, shut the water supply off and release the pressure from the gun by squeezing the handle. Pull start it without the choke and if it won't start, put the choke on and pull start again. If it won't start after a few pulls, turn the choke off and pull it again until starts. Turn the water on again and repeat.... As far as the negative of this unit, it vibrates quite a bit and the hose attachment nozzles, the plastic colored parts vibrate right off the nozzle and get lost. Also, the hose will melt on the muffler so be careful that it doesn't touch it when hot, let the engine cool before storing it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Homelite 2700 psi with Honda Engine I purchased pressure washer on may 29 2013..the pressure washer was used 5 times and performed fine. The last time it was used the lower unit on the pressure washer pump fell off the unit. There are 3 bolts that hold the pump together. The heads on the bolts cracked off with one bolt breaking off in the upper part of pump. The unit is about 5 months out of warranty..of course it is! Homelite doesnt sell the metric bolts so you have to buy the complete replacement pump. This should have never happened had they used hardened bolts. EXTREMELY disappointed in this pressure washer..will never buy another Homelite pressure washer again

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Vendor Item #529760 UT80546 3000 PSI Gas Pressure Washer(Homelite machine, nonbranded engine) Purchased this product from Home Depot Internet. For a couple of summers I used this washer some around my home & it worked great. However, last summer before I used it I decided to change the spark plug before starting it. That was a mistake on my part because the threads stripped when I tried to replace with a new plug apparently because of a defective head on the engine. I didn't do anything with the machine until last week. I'm 83 so I got my grandson to take it to a very reputable repair shop to see if they could rebore the spark plug hole or replace the engine head. The technician looked at the machine & was very apologetic. He said I'm very sorry Mr. Cook but we can't repair your machine & when I asked him why he said that the Engine was not a branded item like a Honda or some other name brand but was what they considered an "Asian Variant"& you cant get parts for it. Its thrown together with all kinds of stuff. I was surprised that The Home Depot would sell this kind of equipment.

It started on the first start and worked just like it was supposed to. The quick change tips are great to use, you can change between projects in just seconds.
