Anniversary WindTunnel Bagged Canister Vacuum Cleaner is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 91.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely the best canister sweeper I had an upright and hated it - too heavy and awkward to handle. And after only 2 years the motor burned out. No - it was not a Hoover. After doing research, this sweeper was recommended as one of the best. IT IS. Very light weight and easy to handle; gets under furniture easily, and does a super job cleaning both carpet and tile floors. The price at Home Deport was $50 less than what Best Buy wanted - another selling point. And I had the sweeper put on hold for pickup at Home Depot by shopping on line. You can't go wrong with this sweeper and Home Depot. It truly is a great product at a great price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs Some Design Tweeking The Wheels: They should be larger to go over uneven terrain and occasionally running over the power cord. The On/Off Switch: PLEASE, put it on the handle like every other company. The switch on the vacuum will look horrible in a short time, plus it takes longer to get to it if you have a phone call. (Common sense, guys.) The Hose: Much too rigid. Hoover has been manufacturing vacuums for decades - this is a no-brainer. The Dust Brush: Did you REALLY want to save a couple of dollars on a horsehair brush as opposed to nylon? Really? My electronics and other delicate surfaces are more prone to scratching than a hardwood or tile floor, don’t ya think? The Floor Brush: Remove the wheels and increase the suction. The Suction: Great. The Vent: Out the top - perfect (doesn’t blow dust around)! This was the primary reason for buying this vacuum. The HEPA Filter: Large - excellent!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Oh for the good old days! We bought this model hoping it was a new version of the Hoover vacuum we loved to use, which was the M1000 canister(?) Our repairman has been waiting for a month for the main circuit board which also holds the fuse for the floor attachment and it is back-ordered for another month!! Who would design an fuse to be a part of and expensive circuit board anyway? Also the hand windtunnel tool is non-functional and the hard floor tool is poorly designed, so I threw both away and use the old bare floor tool from the original machine that I retrofitted to fit this machine. It could have been a great machine,if it were truely and anniversary edition, built like the original!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A mixed review This is a very powerful cleaner that will suck the carpet right off the floor. It did a great job on all the carpets in my house. Between the high suction and the Wind Tunnel power head it vacuums up noticeably more pet hair than any of my previous cleaners – to the point that I vacuum the hair off power head afterwards. The power head does not have a height setting, but I do not miss it at all. It is convenient to use when general carpet cleaning: the wand connects & adjusts easily and the four wheels allow the unit to roll in the intended direction. The weight is probably about average for this type of cleaner. After this, however, I have a number of issues, some serious. The most serious shortcoming for me is the small "power" head. It works, but being powered ONLY by the vacuum from the hose (a horrible design created to save $) it just does not provide the same kind of rotation to the brush that a motor powered head does. For example, it is way too easy to stop it completely when doing stairs. It works, barely, but this alone makes it difficult for me to recommend the cleaner. The next shortcoming is the bare floor brush. This is harder to figure, as Hoover way overspent on this piece: It has rollers, heavy duty floating brushes and is built like a tank. Unfortunately, it does not pick up well, possibly because it sits too far off the floor and the heavy brushes push dirt away. A lot of angle is needed to get the brush off the floor so it will pick up properly. Also it is too thick and won't go under things like my old unit will. Not a deal breaker, but not a good piece of work. The last big shortcoming is the lack of a wand mounted on/off switch. Why anyone would choose this feature to eliminate to save a few bucks is hard to fathom. Yes, there is a switch on the wand for the carpet head, but I still have not gotten used to using my foot to turn everything on & off. It is just not convenient, and it is wasteful of electricity, as many will just leave it on longer. I knew about this "feature" before I purchased, but in use it is much more annoying than I thought it would be - this would prevent me from buying again. I also have a number of durability concerns, the major one being hose. The canister slipped backwards on the stairs and when I grabbed the hose it stop it the hose separated from the plug in receptacle. I was able to put it back together, but the design is very weak. The hose itself is also made of very light duty material; it already kinked itself in an alarming, folded-over position. I am very doubtful about the long term longevity of this part. In addition, the accessory compartment lid is already sticking, and the cord retractor does not always retract fully. More small complaints: crevice tool is too short, brush tool is too small and there is no storage for the power head or floor brush. All of the above may be the result of trying to make the cleaner too small. Used for vacuuming carpets alone, this is an excellent cleaner. Unfortunately, it just has too many negatives for me to recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good Overall very good. I had an old Hoover Wind Tunnel that I liked very much and this is similar. The 360 degree hose and the rollers on the canister make it easier to maneuver than the old one. Also, it is just as easy if not easier to attach/detach items which is important to me. Power cord is long enough and comparable to my old vacuum. Suction is fine. Attachments are fine, although I miss my old rounded brush (I'm still trying to get used to the new thin angled brush.) The only drawback for me is that on my old vacuum the handle had a power on/off switch (in addition to the foot pedal) but this new version does not allow me to control power on/off with the handle. I have to use the foot switch and I find this awkward as I do turn the vacuum off and on frequently while I move about the house, switching attachments etc. I recommend Hoover consider putting back the power on/off switch on the handle when they redesign this model again in future.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Too good Cons: Power head just went dead after 11 months. No burning, no smell; just died. Not much movement with the carpet head; no swivel. Very poor attachments; basically useless. Overall, poor design. Pros: Long Cord Powerful sunction.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from this productg is not durable We bought this product in Oct 2011 and one month later we returned it for another of the same model because the electrical between the on/off button on the handle and the rug attachment was shorting out. We had to twist the vacume hose to get a connection to operate the rug brush. Well guess what, Nov 2012 we are having the same problem. What a pain, having to keep on twisting the hose to get a connection. I have always liked Hover products but this issue is very, very inconeinient. They should also take the wheels off the floor atachment. We are very disappointed. If they could fix the electrical issue, I would highly recommend this produect. But until then, do not waist your money. Your time is more valuable. Having to pay this price for a vacume, you should not have to keep on twisting the hose for a connection for the rug attachment.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Its just ok. I bought this vacuum last week (4/6) the hook inside of the telescopic wand has already broke off, no way now to keep the wand and hose handle connected, the powerhead doesn't swivel, it also doesn't seem to deep clean the carpet like others do. It does have great suction but wish I hadn't bought it. Looking for a different canister now.
