This unit does not heat the water. Do NOT use boiling water. It doesnt actually use steam to clean. Hot water with no cleaner does an excellent job of loosening the carpet fibers so the scrub brushes loosen the dirt and then its sucked up with the water. While using the upholstery cleaner I used my hot water heaters hottest setting and the water tube on the upholstery hose expanded and popped off its connector that is used to plug it into the carpet cleaner. A fountain of water went into the air and was sucked into the suction porthole next to the upholstery connection point. The upholstery wand no longer pumps water to its sprayer but I can still clean my carpet. I think suction is used to pressurize the water to spray out the upholstery tool and water was sucked into the pump. Regardless 140deg water with no cleaner cleans my carpet very well. If the carpet cleaner suits unused the water temperature will gradually decrease in the clean water tank. Read Less

Technically yes it can pull water that leaked or was spilled into the carpet. Its better to pull up as much as you can with a shop vac especially if its allot of water or if its dirty water. After pulling up as much as you can then if it was dirty water clean the carpet with the carpet cleaner.

Hi Tomas,
Yes, you may use this machine to remove water from your carpet.
However a carpet cleaner is designed to draw away the cleaning solution and not necessarily dry the carpet.
A shop vac may actually work better.

The machine only dispenses clean water with whatever solution you use onto the carpet. It is extracted into a dirty water container which is easily emptied when full. You will notice that the suction is so good that when your clean liquid is gone, your dirty container has extracted almost as much as you had used to fill the clean water container.

Yes, Unit has separate container for clean water mixed with detergent, and another for vacuumed dirty water. About a gallon or so each container. I would estimate that it holds enough to do about a 10' x 12' room depending on amount of cleaning required.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Look no further! Very pleased... My cat vomited on the rug in a few different places but you would never know after using the Turbo machine, looks great! After I used the Turbo for the first time my cat threw up again and it felt so good to be able to just clean it up with my own machine instead of renting one or hiring someone to clean my carpets, it came right up :) June 21, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible Works great and does the job! Not one year the turbine needs replaced and screw are rusted. Clean after everyuse and dried. Call Hoover and they ask me to take it to a repair company to look at it and see what is wrong. My Aunt is a service Tech for sears. We already did what they would have done. Took pictures and told them the problems and what all needs replaced. That was not good enough for customer service. I do not have time take it 20 miles away to have it looked at by another tech and then drive back to pick it up, plus time off work. I paid $147 and they are now on sale for $98. Paying a tech to look at it, replace parts and screws to repair it, my gas and my time off work should = a replacement. Not to mention again a repair tech from sears already looked at it and said what was wrong for FREE! June 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best shampooer value out there! I purchased this a few weeks ago at my local Home Depot and just used it for the first time on 5-23-2016. The assembly was very easy with just two handle screws to install and snapping the fill tank into place. This unit is simple to use and the water pick up is amazing. I had been using an off-brand unit and this unit outperforms it 10 to 1. Now my carpets are noticeably cleaner. If you are looking to buy an affordable unit-look no further. I am very pleased with this purchase. May 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AWESOME better then Servicemaster. Bought it last week after reading all the negative reviews. If i didnt like it HomeDepot return policy is awesome so i had nothing to loose. I just used it for my front hallway and great room. I wish i had taken before / after pictures. I can tell you first hand i do not work for Hoover or HomeDepot. My god I can not believe how great this machine is, 2 dogs carpet 1 year spots ALL gone and the carpet looks brand new again. Do yourself a favor and buy one of these you will be glad you did. Oh and by the way I can not tell you how easy it was to clean up and refill. April 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Completely in Love I am in love with this carpet cleaner. After borrowing my parents 20+ year old carpet cleaner I decided to purchase my own. This cleaner is showing me that my carpets were not really that clean using the other cleaner. It took me about 5 minutes to put together without the instructions. I love that the accessories came in a mesh hanging bag!! There are two separate compartments that keep the cleaning solution clean. The other feature that is amazing is that the bottom compartment that holds the dirt water allows you to take the top off to be able to fully clean out when you are done. August 16, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hoover Lasts 2 years Max Works great when it works. This is the second Hoover carpet cleaner I owned. The brushes stopped working on my first one after 2 years, so I figured it was just a defect. I was wrong. The second Hoover was just as bad. The brushed stopped working and its only been used for light cleanings. I took it into the Hoover authorized center and I could see 7 other Hoovers sitting there. The salesman told me, almost all of them had the same issue. He said they are only made to last 2 years and die, so you will have to buy a new one. I am not buying Hoover anymore August 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stop paying for basic carpet cleaning services This product does the job just as well as the cleaning services I've been getting from the pros for over 4 years. Additionally, owning the product allows you to clean the carpet more frequently than once a season at a quarter the cost. The product is easy to use but I would suggest reading the instructions if you've never cleaned a carpet before. I like the fact that the water reservoir is not very large as this helps prevent soaking your carpet. I got this product on sale for $100 and it is worth every penny. August 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good performance for the price. We liked the distribution of the clean water on the carpet. Compared to other machine, it works much better. Dirty water bucket snaps and breaks in two and it is good for cleaning the bucket but if you drop it, the dirty water spreads quickly on carpet so that could be the one thing to pay attention but that is from the development of having one that was hard to clean (=big buckets) so you would get over it soon. Very satisfied with the purchase. August 17, 2016
