Answer:
It is primed with a white primer. You would want to paint. I used a white oil based paint for a durable finish.

Answer:
Crown usually is on a 45% angle so that it mounts where the wall and ceiling meet and extends into both areas. I suppose that you could mount this 'upside down' with the 'profile' to the bottom and achieve an interesting look.

Answer:
Can't see why it could not be used for that application but it does have a very small profile.

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for my job application! Having re-floored our sun room, my wife and I wanted something other than quarter rounds to finish the install. Due to the large windows and short wall height, the baseboard molding needed to be low profile yet wide enough to cover the gap between the flooring and the walls. This molding at 3/4 inch x 1 1/4 inch was perfect. It was easy to cut, painted well and installed easily. Had to come to my store as a special order but available quickly. September 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exactly as presented I was having a hard time finding a floor trim that met my size requirements, and found this product on-line. It shipped quickly and when it arrived it was exactly as presented and fit my needs exactly. I am in a large remodeling project and I am at my local Home depot every week. This is now the third time that I have used the web site to purchase just exactly the product that I needed. It works and I will continue to purchase from your web site. September 27, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great way to inexpensively class up cabinets and shelving I've used this particular molding to give a bit of class to several projects in my house. When redecorating my daughter's room we used this shoe molding instead of crown molding in the corners where the walls meet the ceilings. I've also used it to decorate the top edge of some basic shelving I built for my son's room. I am currently in process of repainting the kitchen cabinets and will be using this molding to trim the tops. This molding is easy to work with, easy to paint since it's pre-primed, AND inexpensive. I was very concerned when temporarily I couldn't find it in my local Home Depot as I have come to depend on this for so many uses. July 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Product Required molding to provide decorative trim on the edge of 3/4" stair skirt. This molding is accurately milled, has nice straight grain with virtually no knots, and is very well priced. Will likely use this attractive molding for a decorative trim on other projects in the future. February 26, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 4 It looks beautiful in our house. Easy to install. March 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Shoe Molding At first, I wasn't sure if I would like mdf molding over pine, but this stuff cut and fit nicely. I used this particular size for trimming out replacement windows on the inside. Worked great. December 11, 2013
