No details: Just not enough details. Does this come with stopper? Does this come with cord? Does Home depot sell the cord specific to this? Does it matter what cord I use? Can I just use an old computer cord for this and cut off the female side, and connect it? I have a lot of those. Why waste metal, plastic and paper (money). Thanks.

Answer:
It does not come with a cord or clamp to hold cord in place.
I used both from my old disposal prior to installation.
Any 3 prong cord will work to plug it into an outlet, just make sure it has the ground prong and it is wired correctly for polarity.

The Evolution Essential comes with a stopper, but not a cord. I'm not an electrician and would ask a Home Depot associate for their recommendation. I would not suggest using a cable that's not recommended.

If the disposer does not come with the plug in cord (and you need the unit to be plugged in to an electrical outlet), you may purchase a power cord kit (CRD-00) which is an accessory. We do not recommend using an old appliance plug in cord.
Here is the link on our website about the Power Cord Kit:

If local codes permit, and if you are familiar with electrical connections, it's easy to do. Otherwise, get an electrician. This disposal is intended to be hard-wired to a standard 110 volt connection. You could wire it to a plug-end cord and use a standard outlet instead.
I believe that it does come with a stopper.

Evolution Essential 3/4 HP Continuous Feed Garbage Disposal is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 1023.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Anyone know how to jam this thing? I've had this disposer for nearly a year and never had it jam. I've tried pretty much everything - last Thanksgiving I even shoved turkey bones into it as fast as I could. My kitchen cupboards nearly shook themselves free, but the disposer barely broke a sweat. I've had numerous Badger 5s over the years. They would often jam and generally didn't survive much past their warranty expiry. The 50% boost in power - and perhaps the two-stage grinding - really makes a big difference. Add in the stainless steel parts and the soundproofing, and this disposer doesn't seem like such a bad deal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job We purchased this Evolution Essential model to replace our 20+ year old Badger, which had been installed by our builder. I hired a handyman to install it as my husband didn't care to do the labor. I'm assuming the installation went well since I had to leave just after the workman began the work and he was gone when I returned home less than 2 hours later. The disposer works well. I didn't give it at 5 star rating only because I don't think it is much more quiet than our old disposer. The noise of a disposer is not a big deal for me, since it doesn't get used more than once a day at most, and I usually compost most of my food waste.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A top quality product I recently replaced my "entry level" InSinkErator (which gave me 16 years of trouble free service) with the Evolution Pro 880LT. Installation was seamless, I reused the sink adapter from the original disposer, the plumbing lined up perfectly. It only change under the sink was the addition of a GFIC plug to the electrical box under the sink, the new unit has a plugged cord as opposed to being hard wired in. The Evolution Pro is a quiet powerful unit! I'm glad my plumbing supplier recommended it. I wouldn't hesitate to to recommend this unit to anyone looking to install or replace a waste disposal unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet and powerful I love my new Evolution Essential disposal. It is powerful and very quiet. It's not a feature of this model alone, but ... it was a hassle to get the former one (Insinkerator Badger 5xp) off. The cinching ring was stuck tight to the supporting ring, and I had to practically hammer it to free it. And it was even more of a hassle to put the new disposal on. I had to use a car jack under the new one to ease it into position so that I could get the cinching ring aligned with all three contact points. After that, twisting the ring was easy. MUCH cussing. But I still love the new disposal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Installation was a snap, as long as you have all the neccesary materials (plumbers putty) I researched a bunch of units for replacement of my old leaking unit, this model was highly rated for its food munching abilities as well as quiet operation. It met all my expectations at a great price. I wish I could do a long term summary later, but it has been installed for a few months now with no problems. Only took about 45 minutes to remove old unit and install new. My only small gripe is the rubber "shutter" that keeps items from dropping into the disposal doesn't let water drain freely, it creates an air trap that you have to manually open up to let the water drain. Design Engineers need to take a look at that issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the disposal you want! My plumber thought that something was wrong when he flipped the switch for the first time, as there's no real noise, barely a sound. I researched everywhere, and this has everything you want, stainless steel grinding chamber, sound reduction, and something I didn't realize until it was installed: a removable, throw in the top rack of the dishwasher, baffle. One thing I've always hated about disposals are the rubber baffles, that wind up getting caked with nastiness in every fold and wrinkle, and up underneath where you can't see (but sure can smell). Now, every time I run the dishwasher, I pull out the baffle and throw it onto the top shelf. It's so easy to remove and install, and now, no nasty build ups!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Garbage Disposal is quiet and has good power to grind scraps. The evolution is definitely a better product that the badger line. It is made in the USA which is important to me. It is noticeably quieter than the badger we had. The 3/4 horse power motor has plenty of power to grind scraps. We have not overloaded it yet. Installation was pretty easy except the evolution is bigger than the old model we had. We had to replace the connector pipe and drain because there was not enough room between the two drains in a double basin sink to use the old piping. There is less vibration with the evolution model and works well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from These things should last longer! We had this model installed during a remodel project a few years ago. The plumber chose this unit. Now, being only a year or so out of warranty, the outlet fitting began to leak. Since it was a strong and quiet disposer, and since it would speed up replacement, I ordered the same model. The unit was delivered to my door on the date Home Depot said it would arrive. Once I removed the old unit, I discovered that the area around the outlet fitting had completely rusted out! Talk about planned obsolescence! For the price, you'd think this unit should last a good 20 years. Hopefully this unit will last a little longer than the first one. Fortunately, installation was as easy as I anticipated and the new unit is as quiet as the old unit.
