Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rob Anyone know how to jam this thing?
I've had this disposer for nearly a year and never had it jam. I've tried pretty much everything - last Thanksgiving I even shoved turkey bones into it as fast as I could. My kitchen cupboards nearly shook themselves free, but the disposer barely broke a sweat.
I've had numerous Badger 5s over the years. They would often jam and generally didn't survive much past their warranty expiry. The 50% boost in power - and perhaps the two-stage grinding - really makes a big difference.
Add in the stainless steel parts and the soundproofing, and this disposer doesn't seem like such a bad deal.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tony As good as advertised!
I'd highly recommend this item and it's worth every penny! We bought this disposal after a kitchen remodel and compared to our old disposal, it was like going from a Pinto to a Ferrari. It's very quiet while on, even when chopping food and it does a fast and excellent job at that as well.
I do agree with other reviews that food doesn't go down the opening easily so you may need to help it down with a fork or spoon at times but it's really not that big of a deal for us at all and should not be a reason not to buy this.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Hornblower These things should last longer!
We had this model installed during a remodel project a few years ago. The plumber chose this unit. Now, being only a year or so out of warranty, the outlet fitting began to leak. Since it was a strong and quiet disposer, and since it would speed up replacement, I ordered the same model. The unit was delivered to my door on the date Home Depot said it would arrive.
Once I removed the old unit, I discovered that the area around the outlet fitting had completely rusted out! Talk about planned obsolescence! For the price, you'd think this unit should last a good 20 years. Hopefully this unit will last a little longer than the first one.
Fortunately, installation was as easy as I anticipated and the new unit is as quiet as the old unit.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wheels Awesome, Look No Further
Disposal is awesome, On the spendy side, but well worth it. You can literally run the disposal and have a conversation over the sink at the same time, in your normal voice even. We had a cheapo before, I was unplugging it, restting it, or cleaning out the pipes, but not this one, not once, It even recommends putting peach pits and other items in it to help keep a good smell. lol.. What a product, the Evolution series is hands down awesome, wrapped in a think insulation, easy to set up the wiring, easy 3 bolt install.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DianaA Much quieter than I expected
So far so good. Just had it installed this weekend, but no more clogged sinks from debris, and it's super quiet. I can definitely have a normal conversation with this on, and it won't wake baby. Only downside is it seems to grind and clear the sink up a little slower than previous brands.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by mmaTX Very Nice Unit
It was relatively easy to install, although due to the weight of the unit you could use some help when sliding over the ring. The unit is built very sturdy and runs effortlessly with almost no noise. Some people may find the rubber-mounting gasket to be very tight that restricts water flow; one option is to replace it with a more generic version available in stores. I found it to be just right. This specific model is a bit pricey but well worth it, although there is a Evolution Compact model out there that is packed with the same ¾ HP motor and two grind stages and seems comparable to Essential. Overall I am very pleased with the Evolution Essential performance thus far and would highly recommend it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by allthingsvu DIY - Easy to install
I am not a plumber, just a regular home owner. It took me about an hour to remove the old garbage disposal and install the new one. This is definitely a DIY project anyone can do. There are many youtube videos that will guide you through the entire process. You will need to also purchase an InSinkErator CRD-00 Power cord kit if you don't want to reuse the power cord from your old garbage disposal. The power cord kit will cost less than $10. I used the kit because I wanted everything new.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by NA Works fine not as quiet as advertised
Bought this disposal because it was advertised as super quiet. It's better than old one yet thought it would be better. It's also very big. Had to reconfigure plumbing, which cost $$. This in turn makes my pull out faucet get stuck as the counterweight hits reconfigured plumbing. At least it has good warranty, although the badger I replaced was 15 years old and still working, so I expect no issues. If u have space this should be fine.
