Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 750 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Installation was a snap, as long as you have all the neccesary materials (plumbers putty) I researched a bunch of units for replacement of my old leaking unit, this model was highly rated for its food munching abilities as well as quiet operation. It met all my expectations at a great price. I wish I could do a long term summary later, but it has been installed for a few months now with no problems. Only took about 45 minutes to remove old unit and install new. My only small gripe is the rubber "shutter" that keeps items from dropping into the disposal doesn't let water drain freely, it creates an air trap that you have to manually open up to let the water drain. Design Engineers need to take a look at that issue. March 25, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Insinkerator Evolution Replaced my old Badger (7 years old started leaking) and this is much quieter and grinds all kinds of scraps I would never put in the Badger like citrus peels for instance. Easy to install - I installed it myself and am not a plumber (male) and would be helpful to have someone assist with the holding of it as it is a little heavy - make sure you order it with a cord! It doesn't come with one so I was lucky to have the old one to install and reuse (you could buy at Home Depot anyway) March 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very quiet disposal I have only had this product for a week, so I haven't had a chance to use it much yet. However the disposal was fairly easy to install. And it is very quiet compared to the 15 year old 3/4 hp disposal that I was replacing. Most importantly it has chewed through all the food that I have put inside it to date. May 27, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very quiet and easy to install I purchased this model to replace a 20+ year old GE. The installation took about 30 minutes. The most difficult part was getting the snap ring installed. It is a two person job with one person pushing down on the sink flange from above. The unit is very quiet. I highly recommend this model. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by So quiet and powerful! For around $200 this is a great product. My dad has used this same model for a couple years now and recommended it. The unit is quiet and powerful, which is exactly what everyone wants in a garbage disposal. Installation was not a pain and I'm even a first time home owner. July 16, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great, except one thing... The disposal itself is great - just one issue I'll get to at the end. It's so quiet that you almost think it's broken. We had a lower model Insinkerator that lasted for years past it's warranty. This time we decided to go with a higher model with a longer warranty, as our house will be a rental at some point, and I want it to be as worry-free as possible. It was super easy to install and we've had no issues - except for one thing - I have absolutely no idea how the design of the rubber thing that goes in the sink got past quality control. It is HORRIBLE. It doesn't let food go down, you have to push it through yourself, and it doesn't let enough water pass through, so the sink backs up with water and makes the sink look filthy and gross. You may not think this is a problem, but try dumping a pot of pasta into a colander in the sink, and watch the water back up while your pasta is now sitting in dirty sink water - GROSS! Anyway, if Insinkerator fixes this one easy problem, I would give it a 5 star rating. In the meantime, I'm going to try making some cuts in the rubber thing to let food and liquids pass more easily. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very quiet. works well. This Evolution series disposal is very quiet. I replace a competitors product during a complete kitchen remodel. And it's much quieter than that one. I haven't run a lot of material through it but it seems to work well with what I have pushed through. My intention with a replacement product was to get a quieter option and I'm very pleased with that part. In addition it has a lengthy warranty. 5 years or so I think. I've only had it installed about 2 weeks. So far so good. I did the install myself and it went fairly smooth. It took me a few tries to get the snap ring back on the flange, but after i got that everything else was easy. Be aware, Plumbers putty was needed to seal the part that sits inside the sink. I didn't know that until I started the install. So I had to go back to the store to get it. And since I was replacing all the under-sink piping that was ok, because I needed a few other things as well. January 11, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exactly as advertised! My 13 year-old Insinkerator finally died one morning. An online review brought up the much-improved & quieter models. I selected the Evolution Essential, at 3/4 HP, to replace the old 3/4 HP unit. The removal/install was fairly straightforward. The only small glitch was having to go to the hardware store for a (not supplied) cable clamp connector (I could not use the old one because one had never been installed by the subcontractor--the cable was merely routed up into the electrical junction). Thus, my install was more professional than that of a 'professional.' The device is nearly silent. My wife was unaware that I had started the unit & disposed of some vegetable peelings. Impressive!
