Customer Questions & Answers

Can they run 220?

I know individually they only run 120 but with the parallel kit they should give me 220....right?
Asked by: BigPercheron
No. 120VAC only. You need a whole different setup on the generator to get 240 (220)vac. This device will double the amps available but it will NOT double the voltage. (I presume the two generators would be the same size.)

Inverter Generator Parallel Kit is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ideal accessory for a pair Ryobi inverter generators I bought a pair of the Ryobi 1800 watt inverter generators to replace a heavier Yamaha 2800 watt inverter. I now have lighter weight and much more power. I bought the parallel kit to use strictly for the Ryobi generators and to power my camper (30 amp 120 volt) while allowing versatility to still use the generators independently for around the house. As for the parallel kit, I was a bit confused to the polarity of the plug-ins of the kit. It turns out it doesn't matter, I assume the electronics of the generator correct the output of the "hot" and neutral. Following the connection instructions; first starting the generators and then connecting the parallel kit to each of the generators. I had the auto idle set to on and when I connected the second parallel line to the second generator, that generator had an up rev. It appears the generators pick a lead/lag on a two generator connection. At first this concerned me as I wanted the generators to equally carry the load but in it makes sense to fully load one generator and have the lag pickup as load increases. I don't believe the parallel kit has any part in this. Worth noting, a loss of a generator on the parallel setup, the outlet on the parallel kit still functions normally. The parallel kit is well built with two types of outlets, one being a the 30amp RV type and the other being the twist-lock type both delivering 120 volts. I am very pleased with the parallel kit and the construction. Although I provided a lot of information on the specific Ryobi generators, the parallel kit should perform as well on the other approved generator sets for this kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It easily does what it is made for. Now I can easily connect my two generators together and have most things running in my travel trailer to include the air conditioner!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PERFECT!!!!!!!! After waiting over a year...... FINALLY someone has given us an Inverter Generator Parallel Kit for the RYOBI Invertor/Generator. After purchasing 2 of these in February of 2014 we could not find a Parallel Kit for them even though they were shown on the Home Depot site, BUT were always out of stock. Total disappointment. FINALLY, someone made a kit that is fully compatible with our Ryobi's! TRUST ME IF A 65yo AND HER 66 yo SISTER CAN USE THEM YOU CAN TOO!!! THANK YOU TO THE MAKER & THANK YOU TO HOME DEPOT FOR FINALLY HAVING THEM AVAILABLE.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great purchase I bought this product along with 2 Ryobi generators. I have a camp trailer that I take out for hunting and camping and the 1 gen wasn't supplying enough amps to run everything on the trailer. I bought another gen and the parallel kit to combine the 2 gens. This product was simple to use and with the 2 gens combined gave me enough amps to run everything. I am very pleased with how well it works and the price of everything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love being able to power my camper! Combine this with two Ryobi inverters/generators.. and you can power a camper without problem! For under $1500 you have clean power and flexibility with your inverter system!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for I bought this to run my Smarter Tools 2000 STAP2000iQ generators in parallel. The Smarter Tools parallel kit ($60) looked cheaply made, and would have required an adapter plug for RV use. This parallel kit has the adapter plug built in to the panel!
