will this fit a 300 series john deere

Asked by: james
Thank you for contacting the Home Depot website. Unfortanately, this Lawn Tractor Canopy will only be compatible with the 100 series tractors. John Deere does make a sun shade for the 300 series which can be found here and you may need to contact your local John Deere dealer: (Item #10 in the brochure)

Customer Reviews

Lawn Tractor Canopy is rated 2.1 out of 5 by 44.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from not worth it Bought this to keep the sun off when spending hours outside on the mower. Thought it would be worthwhile. Turned out it's worthless. The canopy size doesn't provide much shade. When I assembled it I tightened the front rods into the mounting adapters and 20 minutes into mowing, the rods came out. Storing the mower in the Tuff Shed, I've got to remove the canopy in order to get the mower inside (the canopy on the mower is about 7 feet tall) because it won't fit through a 6' 6" door.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good but needs improvement This canopy is an all right product. I was able to obtain it at a substantial discount or I might not have purchased it. I found assembly to be relatively simple. If you have ever pitched a tent you should not have any difficulty. It performs well in its intended role, keeping me well shaded from the harsh midday sun. That being said it is not without its problems. The canopy is rather tall once attached to the tractor and its design makes it difficult for the operator to assess overhead clearance. The first time you use this I recommend having someone assist you in ensuring all the low hanging branches will properly clear the canopy. If you use this product with the bagger attachment there is some minor interference which prevents the bagger cover from completely opening, but there is enough room to remove and dump the bags. As such it is really only a minor inconvenience. The flexible poles are 1/4" fiberglass which means they are flexible but fragile and once broken they are not easily repaired. I was able to replace them with aluminum poles from a camping supply store for less than $20. This represented a huge improvement in durability and is something the manufacturer should seriously consider. The canopy itself is made from a very thin, non rip stop nylon. Given that this awning should be able to shrug off low hanging branches and other hazards this is a very poor choice of fabric. A UV resistant Cordura fabric would have been ideal. Overall, this product is has both functional and durability issues. The product could be improved by 1. Lowering the rear portion of the canopy by 3-6" 2. Replacing the fiberglass tent poles with aluminum 3, Replacing the canopy fabric with rip stop nylon or Cordura.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Canopy poorly made Canopy is made of a flimsy plastic fabric, which tears and tatters, and held together with elastic strings, which break. Not worth 99 cents, let alone 99 dollars! Don't waste your money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Product, but with one flaw During installation, the two plastic inserts that hold the flex rods into the front of the mower broke. The product is very nice, but the two inserts should be made of metal, due to seeing pressure from the flexing of the rods. I had to machine two myself, and now I have no worries with it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the money Poor quality, by JD It doesn't take much to break them, for $99 your money will be better spent on the lottery,

Rated 1 out of 5 by from save your money Flimsy and overpriced, hardware fits sloppy, the slightest breeze will blow this thing off the tractor,a cheap umbrella taped to your seat would work better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product has some shortcomeings During final assembly the front brackets where the canopy bow inserts into the front cargo mount broke. This part needs to be metal.
Date published: 2013-07-12
Rated 2 out of 5 by from This product is not durable Although this is a John Deere product, the quality as well as durability does not support John Deere. The rods in which the canopy was placed upon, obviously were not made with durable and stronger materials. After being on the lawnmower for about two weeks, one of the rods in front snapped.
