Answer:
if you do caulk, leave a one inch gap towards the back of the toilet in case it does leak. That way you'll know if there's a leak.

I know this is an old question but it always seems to get asked and gets a lot of disagreement. So my two cents. I have installed hundreds of toilets and the majority of them have been caulked because the majority of them have to be shimmed in some manner due to variations in the concrete floor or the toilet bowl base itself. If it is a wood floor and somewhat wobbly itself, shimming and caulking may not help at all. I use soft shims that are designed for that purpose and cut easily with a box knife when in place, I have also used regular builders wood shims in a pinch. The caulking not only hides the shims but also helps hold them in place. I leave about a 2" gap on the back side of the toilet uncaulked so the water can seep out if the (wax or other) seal ever fails. Having said the above, that doesn't mean caulking is always necessary for stability, but some plumbing codes require caulking or a watertight seal. As a plumber, I hate it when I run across a toilet that I have to pull that has been grouted in place, latex based caulking removes easily with a razor blade paint scraper. The more you are trying to hide the more caulking required and the more difficult to make it look like it isn't even there. I also use clear caulking if I am not trying to hide the shims. Read Less

Answer:
Even though it is not required, I always lay a bead of clear latex around the base just to keep unwanted water and urine from seeping under it. Use a wet rag and remove all but a fine bead with your finger and you don't notice it. It takes all of 5 minutes and may eliminate unwanted odors.

Answer:
If you mount the base correctly to the wax ring then there is no need for any caulk. Caulk would only help keep gases from escaping from underneath the base but if you are getting gases then you mounted it to the wax ring wrong or you are using the wrong size wax ring. Of course, if it makes you happy feel free to caulk away.

No, caulk is not required and usually only makes the toilet look messy. You can caulk if you like that look, but professionals do not caulk toilets to the floor.

Dual flush toilets normally have a flush button on top of the tank.
Press one side and you get a full flush for solids. Push the other
side and you flush with only 1 gallon of water for liquid waste.

SO much better than our old toilet! I really think this is the best one out there for the money and the extra height for a guy that's close to 6'2" is very noticeable and adds to comfort. Read Less

Answer:
The tank and bowl are separate, but the tank has everything in it assembled.
Once base is installed (wax ring included),
A rubber ring goes on bottom of tank and the tank has a metal bracket on the bottom which accepts two screws.
you then set the tank on the base, and secure the tank using the two screws.
the seat is then installed easily.
Hook up the water line and check for leaks, and your done.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Good looking toilet BUT... Good looking toilet but the description isnt accurate. I bought this in store and the sign said it had a wax ring, all the hardware, AND a no slam seat. It didnt come with a wax ring or hardware. I found out the hard way in the middle of the night that it didnt have a no slam seat. Very bad advertising in store. If it had not already been installed i would take it back. Instead of paying $178 for everything advertised, i spent an additional $35 on a seat and a wax ring....i may actually open the box before i purchase something from HD again. May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Merchandise you can count on I knew I had to replace our Builder's Merchandise with something a little more stylish and economical. I asked a friend who is a plumber what he would recommend. His response was either the Kohler Cimarron or a toilet called Mansfield. I looked up the specs on the Cimarron and was amazed that it only needs 1.28 GPF. At first I was skeptical that everything would go down the drain, but it works every time. Very glad I made this purchase. I had a plumber do the installing so I can't comment on a personal basis, but the plumber did the install pretty darn fast. May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by she likes it it was easy to install. should come with a 3" wax seal for replacement in an older home. flushes well with less water use. May 17, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good toilet for the price Wish it had the slow close seat which I thought it did, but it is a good solid unit that fits well in small bathrooms. Seat height is great and the flush is soft but effective.. May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by best of easy to install, the bolts tank to bowl will never leak, the parts to repair are easy to obtain to the future May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great! Purchased this Toilet for a bathroom make-over. Easy to install, well made and looks like a high quality toilet. Very happy so far. Uses less water than my old toilet and I'm surprised at how well it flushes down, you know what I'm talking about. December 20, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kohler Cimarron Toilet Fairly easy to install and compliments nicely in my bathroom. I liked it so much I bought a 2nd one to replace in an additional bathroom in my home. May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Toilet! The design of this toilet is wonderful! Nothing goes around and around, everything whooshes down, nothing is left behind (nothing at all!) It tolerates large loads. It hardly ever needs cleaning! The flush mechanism is SO SIMPLE! The comfort height is just right too, if your knees are getting a little strained. The toilet seat takes a little getting used to because it is a little bit scewed to point any drips back into the toilet, but after awhile you don't even notice. They must have coated this toilet with something super non stick because nothing ever sticks to it ever! NO STAINS EVER!! April 8, 2016
