The one I received had 4 dots despite the picture online having 3 so I think they are shipping out the newest version.

How do the articulating arms lock and unlock into position?

Asked by: Anonymous
The connecting tubes of this faucet are not "locked" into a position. The design is such that the faucet has near infinite movement and is easily moved back to what I call a "HOME' position - I fold the sprayer up parallel to it's adjoining tube and then fold that parallel to the next adjoining tube. The faucet tucks into itself very easily this way and it stays in that position until I pull it out for use. The movements are silky smooth. It's not a case of the faucet being stiff until used a little, it's silky smooth out of the box. No need to tighten, loosen or lock anything. This faucet is simply incredible. I love mine!

Customer Reviews

Karbon Deck-Mount Single-Handle Mid-Arc Sprayer Standard Kitchen Faucet in Polished Chrome is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very elegant with excellent build quality The installation of this faucet is very simple and does not require any special skill set. Tools I used were a basin wrench, an adjustable wrench, a channel lock, an impact drill and a hole-saw. Additional material I used was plumber’s putty, Teflon tape and all-purpose oil (used while drilling the hole in the sink). The supply lines are standard 3/8” male and are pre-attached to remote valve (the handle that turns the water On/Off), both lines are 23 inches long. Remote valve must be installed within 8 inches of the faucet since its supply line is only 13 inches long. It is advertised as a faucet that requires minimum three sink holes. That is not correct, you just need two holes. One for the faucet and the second for the remote valve. Since it needs some pulling and twisting to adjust angles, an under mount sink with counter top installation is the best option for this. I however installed it directly on the sink that had one hole. I made another hole using 2” Hole Dozer saw with arbor (Home Depot carries it). The standard hole size is 1 ¾” but the remote valve would not fit in that so the 2 inch hole is the only option. There is a day-night difference between this faucet and my old one. First, I find it to be very elegant and stunningly gorgeous. The two poles that appear to be engraved in the stainless is actually carbon fiber and certainly adds a unique look to it. It becomes talk of the kitchen every time any guest walks into the kitchen area. The water flow is perfect for my needs and I can switch the flow from normal to shower by push of a button. By twisting the front 2 joints, I can place large sized pots under it without struggle and that’s very functional in my opinion. Compared to a pull down faucet which requires almost no pull force, this faucet does demand some force specially when twisting the handle right or left. Kohler did provide a tool to adjust the faucet joints. If I loosen it just enough that it becomes easy to twist then it kind of slowly moves downwards all by itself, if I tighten it just enough then it becomes a bit tough to move. I am in early stages of arthritis and sometimes I find it to be difficult to twist the handle. Unlike the flexible pull down where the handle goes back to its spot by the weight hanging on the spray supply line, this faucet needs to be manually adjusted back to more appealing shape which is understood but the button that switches the flow is placed on the handle at a location that always comes in the way when I hold it to twist and that does get annoying. For build quality, uniqueness and elegance, I give it 5 stars but I am not much impressed with its twisting mechanism.

This faucet is in engineering marvel! from the ease of install to the high end fits and finishes. I wanted a faucet that was like no other and this fit the bill. It functions just as good as it looks. It allows you to have full 360 degree articulation meaning you can twist, pull and navigate the faucet in any way you like. The faucet is so custom that you can adjust the tightness of each joint with a special tool that it comes with. Installation: very easy, the faucet comes with very easy to follow instructions and all the nessary parts to get the job done. Use: The faucet uses a unique way to control the water flow. basically a joy stick. I like this because its pretty easy to set the right temperature. Pros: Looks sleek! hides away when not in use easy controls easy installation/instructions Cons: can clog easy if you have debris in your water system

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful Faucet but Different I had this Kohler Karbon Faucet installed in our kitchen in about 45 minutes. It replaced a Kohler motion sense faucet we've had for some while. My wife and I are both trying to decide which one we prefer. In my opinion, this Karbon Faucet is for someone that wants more than just a faucet. It's very much about design and style. Everyone that has come to our home has commented on it. It's a beautiful and unique faucet but is also very functional. You can position the faucet for very high clearance or have it down low in the sink. I've never had a faucet that has a laminar flow. Basically it's a non-aerated flow. Laminar flow is excellent for gently washing fruits and vegetables. Now here's the drawback. If you have a faucet that you can quickly move around or you have a pull down that you grab to quickly rinse out the sink then this will take some getting use to. I personally feel this faucet is best suited at a sink used for food prep and light dish washing. While it is expensive, the quality is second to none.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the Wait!!! A little spendy but OMG what an improvement over traditional kitchen sink faucets! Kohler hit this one out of the ball park. I often don't fall in love with home improvements but I have never used a more functional faucet. The spray head is integrated into the faucet and activates with a quick push of a button. The ergonomics of this faucet are flawless. I'm amazed that when reaching for the spray head, it fits perfectly in the hand and the design allows infinite articulation of the spray head. Rather than fight with the spray head trying to reach all areas of a large sink with traditional faucet sprayers, the Karbon seems like an extension of your hand allowing you to direct the sprayer anywhere within the sink - effortlessly. When I think about the costs of a kitchen remodel or upgrade, this is a small price to pay for such convenience. My plumber had a couple questions on adjusting the water flow, called up Kohler and they quickly provided guidance. Kohler customer service is world class! Just make sure to SAVE the two plastic tools for adjusting the tension and removing the faucet aerator. Do not lose them - my plumber said these tools are unique to the Karbon faucet to make adjustments on these faucets and he said he didn't have similar tools. So far EVERYONE who walked into my kitchen noticed the faucet and remarked on how "cool" it was and how superior the sprayer design is.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful and functional faucet. Easy to install. The only issue I have with this faucet is that there is a flow restrictor built into it. This means it doesn't have really greaT pressure. But it's good enough. But that is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I also want to say that before buying this faucet I saw numerous postings staying it required larger than average holes to be drilled in your countertop to mount it. I did not find this to be true. I told this to my contractor and fabricator and they both said no its standard size. Maybe Kohler saw the complaints and chainged it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Perfect Look, Imperfect Function The look of the fountain is fantastic. Everyone asks about it when they enter my kitchen. The downside of it is that the water pressure that it shoots out is very very low. This will be a drastic change from whatever faucet you have before. If I could do it again, I would get a different faucet solely for the water pressure.
