Answer:
I don't believe this tool will work for this application. The tool only makes shallow (1/8" deep) crimps that are spaced 1/4" apart, very much like the corrugation on a downspout. I don't think these shallow, widely space crimps would secure a gutter end cap properly.

Answer:
This tool crimps 24 ga. CSRM and 28 ga. SSSM. It is not intended for use with end caps on a gutter, but if your materials are these gauges or thinner the tool should be able to crimp them.

I have several pieces of Heavy duty 24 guage steel stove pipe that needs to have a crimped edge.
They are currently only tapered. I need to get these to a much smaller size.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Didn't Do What I Wanted I bought this tool in hopes of making the corner crimps that would allow you to join sections of downspout together (male / female joint). This tool only makes indentations about 1/8" deep by 1/4" wide (similar to the indentations on the sides of the downspout) because it has a stop between the two half's of the tool that prevents the forming of deeper crimps. This then prevents you from indenting (deforming?) the corners of the downspout sections enough to allow one section to slip inside the other. Other than that, it's a well-made, quality tool; just didn't work for my application. Back to making these indentations with needle nose pliers, I guess. *sigh* June 2, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy as Pie I received the tool in record time and picked the tool up at the store without any problems. April 26, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by HVACInstaller Five Blade Crimper While the dip-grip is sufficient, I would like Klein to offer their Journeyman grip. Otherwise, it works well. June 9, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A Sturdy & Useful Tool Improvised crimping of stove pipe and air ducts is a witch (as I learned over the years). Finally paid the money and bought a genuine tool..in terms of aggrivation spared it was money I should have laid out long ago. If you're just doing home maintenance, you will be pleased. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The only way to crimp downspouts Should have bought these crimpers long time ago. Cutting and shaping with tin snips takes hours not to mention the cuts from the sharp edges. These are well worth the money even if you are using them occasionally. Great item to share with others doing gutter repairs. Light weight adjustable and easy to use. July 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good buy I should have bought this 30 years ago. I heat with wood so every few years I have to replace stove pipe. i made all my crimps with need nose pliers. these crimpers make crimping fun. September 16, 2014
