I've been an HVAC Tech all my life and used a lot of different wire strippers. The biggest problem I've had with other strippers is when your wire strippers get bent slightly so the two side don't meet perfectly and then you have to jimmy it to cut the wire casing and end up nicking the wire. This is a big problem when working with 18g as I do regularly. These wire stripper never do that unless you abuse them. You can actually use the pliers on the end without destroying them. Keep in mind that a lot of the strength comes from the small size so if you work with a large variety of wire gauges or you want to be able to crimp butt connectors and the like then this is the wrong product for you. personally I like my crimpers as a separate tool because i like the really sturdy ones.

Klein makes well built high quality tools for professionals and homeowners at a reasonable cost and the 6 1/4" wire cutter/stripper are a good tool The handle grips are comfortable and can be used all day with minimal hand fatigue

I didn't want to purchase the most expensive, but one with a trusted name in electrical tools. I have used this tool several time since purchasing, and found it very reliable.

Bought these to replace a few outlets. They cut clean lines and are sturdy for their size.

These were the first pair of strippers I bought as a greenhorn lighting tech.. For the price They worked well... And I didn't mind burning them out... I switched to ideal and they've become my favorite.. The pistol grip feels so much better.. The Klein strippers aren't bad for occasional home use and those still new to wiring, but as a pro who uses them more than any other tool in my belt it's worth it to go with ideals
