I have had a few meters over the years some i have purchased or my employer supplied one,not all meters are the same. when i opened the package, this meter to my joy comes with alligator clips. does a nice job with continuity and voltage settings, I have not had a chance to play with the temp probe yet. The meter leads could be bit longer say 4 feet instead of 3 feet.

I'm an electrical engineer who does quite a bit of high voltage wiring for both home and work. This is the meter that I keep in the garage at home for basic troubleshooting for home wiring and auto wiring.
The first thing I do when I get a multimeter is take it apart and look at the protection inside. This has all the features needed for a safe device. I really cringe when I see people use those $5 cheap Chinese on home AC wiring. Understand that a cheap meter can kill you. Use something like this that is protected well.
I occasionally use this as an additional meter on my electronics bench, but it isn't quite up to the accuracy of my other meters. But that isn't its target. And at this price it is a decent and safe meter.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rodreed Lot of meter for a reasonable price!
This meter works well, comes with good information and user manual. It is well made, rugged and easy to read. The display is bright enough in the sun and large enough for older eyes. Accessories and test leads are well made; leads are pliable and sturdy. Clamps are strong. Its comparable to a Fluke, much less in cost. Good value!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rick Accurate, Well Made and Easy To Use
I've used MM1000 to test capacitors, resistance, ac/dc voltage, etc. The MM1000 is easy to setup, easy to use and extremely accurate. The backlight is evenly illuminated and bright. It weighs just under a pound and appears extremely well made. In short, I agree with the other positive reviews.
I haven/t had to change batteries or a fuse yet but this isn't going to be an easy task. The protective orange boot surrounding the meter fits so snugly that its removal will take some time and physical effort. This may be due to the fact that the boot has never been removed and may ease up on subsequent removals but the initial removal will be a bear! I'd also like to see a compartment for onboard test lead storage.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by 619AlarmGuy Looked great! Not so much
I was warned by another one of our technicians that this meter would stop working properly around 6 months. It was almost like clockwork. I replaced the batteries first. It had to be something different. It couldn't happen to me, too. But it did. I rarely turns on when you twist the selector. Oftentimes, when it does work, it will not be on the reading area selected. I had such high hopes, too. I had a cheaper meter I went back to. I use my multimeters almost daily, and I cannot recommend this product to anyone other than a rarely occasional user.

Accurate, easy to operate, nice back light, the right size (not too big not too small), I recommend it for Home or for electrician's tool box .

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by jayduey Great for almost anything
It's definately the best meter I've owned. It's very accurate, has autoranging and manual ranging, plus the max-min, and relationship functions are great. It's a little larger than I expected, about the size of a TI-84 (graphing calculator) and twice as thick. Not so large that it's annoying or inconvenient, but not small either.
It is a little complicated at first, but after using it a little bit, it's very easy and fast. The "bar graph" isn't what I expected, it's just a single bar that changes, NOT a series of bars representing a changing signal over time like the bar graphs you usually see. The continuity buzzer is also a bit on the loud side.
Bottom line is that you get what you pay for, and though it's not the cheapest or highest quality meter, it's perfect for most users. It's definately worth the price.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DW66 This meter fills all my needs, and then some.
As a former Aircraft Electrician having a good multi-meter was imperative. Since I have retired I have truly missed my multimeter, and all it's functions.
The MM1000 by Klein tools has, as far as I can tell, all of the functions as the meter I used. I just replaced 8 thermostats in a gymnasium, and checking out their accuracy was a snap. Thanks Home Depot--Great meter
