How do I measure for which size to get? Is it from the end-to-end diagonal or the "hump" in the middle?

Thanks for your interest in Korky. You discovered there are some differences in flush valve systems and that toilets sizes can vary. An easy reference is to look at the size of the flush valve drain opening in the bottom of the tank. If it’s about the size of an orange or baseball, you need a 2 inch flapper/flush valve. If it looks more like the size of a grapefruit or softball, you need a jumbo 3 inch flapper/flush valve. The vast majority of toilets on the market are 2 inch (orange/baseball size). The 3 inch toilets (grapefruit/softball size) are a newer phenomenon in recent years. If you have any additional questions or want help with your install, we are here and happy to help. Simply call, 1-800-528-3553 or email us at sales@lavelle.com. We are available Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM CST.

I have Kohler 1pc toilet, model K4513. I need replacement flapper. Which flapper should I purchase?

Asked by: 122333r
First turn off the water to the toilet, remove the tank cover, flush toilet, look inside, find the flapper, remove flapper, remove chain from flush handle. Jump in the car run down to your local home depot, go to plumbing department, look for flappers, match size to the old one removed. Go home and install new flapper, turn on water, good to go. Happy flushing.

Their simple-minded flappers only stay up as long as you hold the flush handle down! Mine flops back down almost instantly, so even if you are flushing after a brief paperless urination, you'll have to push down again...or hear someone else complain later about whatever you left--um--behind. See the attached video freeze frame. After one push of the flush handle, Korky is back down after flushing for 1.8 seconds, about one fifth of the tank. For most all of us who have spent our lives pushing the flush handle down once and expecting the toilet to do a tank-emptying flush, this simple-minded flapper is a big step backward to the 1920s or earlier. Yeah, the rubber looks like Fluidmaster's pink rubber, so it may hold up longer than it used to, but you will hate it every time you have to flush a second or third time to do the job. It doesn't have to be that way. I was actually trying to buy a Fluidmaster 501, which flushes right the first time and every time. It has similar pink rubber which lasts 4 years instead of 1 or 2 years in heavily chlorinated water, but with an incredible lack of wisdom Home Depot has stopped carrying Fluidmaster's product--it used to--and is giving us this piece of garbage instead. Hey guys, wise up and do it right--take home and put in a Korky and you'll ship them ALL back the next day! I now have the right product on order from the big A that carries everything, but don't say I didn't try my local Home Depot store first, because I have the receipt--and my own copyrighted video--to prove it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bad Fit This product was a bad fit for a universal replacement piece for a Koehler toilet. Not to mention the sales clerk assisted me. I walked with my old part and the toilet serial number. .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked well, easy to install Worked fine for me, replacing the original hoov-r-line 30072-8. I wouldn't have known which flapper to buy if I hadn't first removed the original and taken it into the store for a quick comparison. Good clip mechanism, not just a hook, but a clasp. No leaks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flowing Water Woke up to the toilet tank running non stop water. Looked like the flapper shrunk and was not fitting correctly to stop the water from flowing into the toilet. Went to my computer and looked up on YouTube how to fix Went to the Home Depot website look to see what type of Flapper and made sure it was in stock. Drove to my local Home Depot found the Korky Flapper. It took about two minute to install and it stopped the water from flowing. A great buy!
