Answer:
I use my table saw with the blade set so that it just touches the plastic. It more melts it that cuts. If the blad is set higher, it shatters it. I guess a circular saw set the same way would also work. If you could run the blade in reverse, it would be better.
For drilling, running the drill backwards works best.

Answer:
Any table saw should work. Keep some pressure on the sheet near the leading edge to prevent chattering. The sheets are 3/32 thick and fit nicely in a 1/8 saw kerf. Do not try to 'score & snap' as Lexan doesn't snap.

Answer:
While not DOT approved, the shatterproof properties of Lexan excell in this type of application. Additionally the UV resistence to yellowing should give a long service life. Gentle bending is possible both cold and with mild heat.

I am intending to use this product in a project for a home made dehydrator. It will need holes about every 1/2 inch. I will be making about 8 shelves. If I cut the shelves and clamp them together, can they all be drilled at once, and if so, what is the best bit for me to use in my drill press?

Answer:
Put a thin strip of wood on both sides (like a paint stir stick) for the cleanest exit & entrance holes in your stack. Use a standard V tip metal bit with steady pressure.
Acrylics chip, lexan doesn't.
It should work well for your application.

Hello joe,
Drilling holes is performed best on a drill press with commercially available plastic cutting drill bits.
Guidelines for drilling include:
Drill bit Speed
Diameter (RPM)

3/16” 2500
1/4” 1800
3/8” 1200
1/2” 900
5/8” 700

The bit should enter the PLASKOLITE acrylic sheet at a slow feed rate, then a steady rate producing two continuous spiral chips, finally exiting through the acrylic slowly, eliminating chipping. To reduce heat build up, and removal of material, peck feeding may be necessary when drilling thick acrylic sheet. Place a scrap piece of acrylic or plywood beneath the sheet to be drilled. This will eliminate chipping as the bit passes through. Standard twist drill bits can be used, provided modifications to the bit are performed. These modifications will allow the bit to scrape rather than cut through the acrylic sheet.

Answer:
Pre drill and use screws to mount on any surface. It can easily be chamfered with hand or power tools. It can also be tapped for moderate loads.
Nailing will NOT work (and is generally a suprise when attempted).

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tough Stuff! They should change the motto to "Virtually uncuttable"! Conventional cutters are not up to the task. Use a good saw. May 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by lexan is way better than acrylic! Lexan beats acrylic handsdown. No splintering when cutting and absolutely crystal clear. The only downside is that the surface scratches easily once the film is removed. Good stuff, but a little pricey. May 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good quality easy to cut used as a security for a custom crosscut sled. I initially tried to cut using a utility knife, the material was so durable i later switched using my circular saw with a 24-T blade. with materials supported firmly, i was able to make a clean cut using the tools i had. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GOOD PRODUCT Per the other reviews I purchased and were satisfied. No breaking and damage while cutting. June 16, 2013
