Under the dryer tech specs, it is specified that this washer/dryer set is NOT stackable; however, the comments suggest that they are stackable to each other and just not with mix and match brands. Can someone please confirm? All other stackable washer/dryer combos shown on Home Depot's website say "Yes" next to the "Stackable" tech spec.
Asked by: Jenna
You can stack anything using velcro which Ive done with other dryers on top of washer and it works well, regardless whether there is a STACKING KIT per say built for it. You just have to be smart and ingenious as I am!!

Is this a washer and dryer combo?

I looked at the manual and there is nothing that says this product is also a ventless dryer.
Asked by: nola818
The WM1388 is just a washer. For the combo, look for WM3488.

Cleaning mildewy smell from machine. Lint trap cleanout? Vinegar or fungicide?

Any tips for cleaning and reducing smell from lower right lint trap clean out? We didn't use the machine for over a year and had it for about 4 years total. I think the smell is now from water sitting in that lower lint trap cleanout that also has the tube for draiining. I drained all the water and it smells pretty mildewy. Anyone have any idea if I can clean the lint-trap cleanout? Can I purhapse clean it with vinegar or a mildew-fungicide to get rid of the smell? Or could that be bad for the machine?

Already tried a sanitary cycle with bleach and softener? That usually works with mine :)

When I put detergent in the dispenser, and my wash is finished there is water left in the dispenser why??
Asked by: Julie
That's okay. The manual states this may be the case. You can remove the dispenser (there's a push release in the top of the dispenser) and upend it in a laundry sink, which you might consider doing that.

This is a brand new unit and It shakes your whole house every time it spins on every cycle, no matter how many articles of clothing you place inside. It sounds and feels like a helicopter is in your house. Lg or home depot will not help or can fix this problem. An lg tec. was sent out to look at this issue and told me there's no way to fix this and that's how its made and works. Do not buy

This washer cleans clothes well, wrings them quite dry but, IT SHAKES UNCONTROLLABLY IN THE SPIN CYCLES! I have installed anti-vibration pads and hired a contrctor to build extra support walls u dear the washer floor which has stopped the whole house from shaking but the machine still rocks violently. Very very disappointed. After only a few weeks.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not without major flaw Washes well, doesn't always dissolve laundry pod, wrings clothes nearly dry, but...SHAKES UNCONTROLABLY IN SPIN. Can't have anything on top while running..have anti-vibration pads AND hired a contractor to build extra support walls under the floor it rests on which has stopped the entire house shaking but the machine still rocks. Very very disappointed. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I think about returning this product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I couldn't be happier with this compact washer. It’s perfect for one person and an apartment. Ope... I couldn't be happier with this compact washer. It’s perfect for one person and an apartment. Operation is quiet, and the spin cycle (even at the highest) is well-balanced and quiet. Clothes come out nearly dry. Features I love include a Drain+Spin — which you will use if you have overloaded the washer and it can’t get the load balanced well enough to spin the contents dry (take out some of the contents and use Drain+Spin to get them rung out). I’ve used several cycles so far, and each works well for the type of load. I’ve been using the Tide pods (one per load, as this is a small washer). I tested with some really dirty clothes, and they came out perfectly clean. The only thing I looked for on this washer was a tub light (like the big LG has). One design consideration for LG is to think about using higher-contrast lettering on the control panel (or to back-light the entire panel). Beneath each selection is the name of the selection (Gray background with black lettering). This might be hard for some folks to read without direct light.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good overall, but won't do a hot wash I've had this machine about 2.5 months, so far I like it. I needed a very compact machine and in the USA there aren't a lot of good choices and this one seemed to be the best of what's available. It wrings the clothes so dry that they can hang for just a few hours to finish up drying. It uses VERY LITTLE water and is super energy efficient. But, here's what I don't like - 1) I'm told that newer Energystar machines like this one tend to mix in cold water to lower the cost of a load of laundry (because hot water costs more than cold). That is certainly the case with this machine. Unless you select the VERY LONG sanitary cycle, the machine will only due a lukewarm wash at best. It will always mix in cold water and will not do a true "hot water only" wash cycle. The sanitary cycle uses the internal heater and that allows a hot wash. It would seem to me that if I select HOT as the cycle temp, that is what I should get, but alas, that is not the case with this machine. 2) The machine spins very fast (up to 1400 rpm) in order to really wring the clothes dry, but that can cause the machine to shake and rattle a lot. You can select a lower spin speed, but that leaves more water in the clothes. 3) Lastly, the drain pump on the machine makes a loud rattling noise when it activates, this is annoying as my machine is in a closet in my living room. 4) Because of the limited choices in this size range, the machines are very expensive like this one is. In the full size range, a similar machine could be found for at least $200 less. Supply and demand, I guess. So in short, I find it does a decent job cleaning, and uses very little water, but the cycles are long, it's quite noisy, and you can't get a hot wash w/o choosing the very long sanitary cycle. Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very Loud. I bought this machine a week ago. It is very loud, and makes a knocking sound when on Spin, to the point of confusing me that someone was at my door knocking loudly. i will be returning to the store. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
