Answer:
the body of the fan is plastic so it can be wiped clean with a cloth..the fan blades and inside according to instructions should be "vacuumed" with a dust attachment..you cannot take the back or front off to clean the blades..

Answer:
Just cleaned my old one, very easy to do. Two small screws hold cover face on, remove the screws and loosen tabs, comes right off. Used paper towels to clean fan blades and a small brush to clean front and back grills. Ten to fifteen minutes max.

It is a superior product. 3 speed and tilt fan allows directional air flow. I set on floor and directed slightly upward. Great product

Customer Reviews

Cyclone 20 in. Power Circulator Fan is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 175.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Fan I never thought I would be giving a review of a fan I purchased but this fan is the exception. I spend a lot of time in my garage and Georgia summer heat, I needed something to move the air. I saw that there was a stack of these on sale and figured I would give it a try. I was not disappointed. This fan moves a ton of air, even on the low setting. It's not the quietest fan in the world, but it's not obnoxiously loud either. I liked it so much that I went out and bought a second fan this past weekend. There are slots on the bottom of the fan so you can screw it to a wall or ceiling. I cannot vouch for the strength of the base though, I have mind sitting on a bench and on the floor. Bottom line, this was a great purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THESE FANS ARE THE BEST ! ! ! Since moving to south Florida 4 years ago we quickly realized our A/C needed HELP, so we bought these fans - 4 of them ! They are THE best ! Yes, 1 was a lemon but it was quickly returned and replaced with no problem. They run 24 / 7 / 365 days a year and they last and last and last ! Yes, they do eventually wear out - after 3 yrs,1 quit - but we're SO excited because 5 just came in on the truck at our local Home Depot who had NONE yesterday and we're on our way to be rescued ! ! :-) If you buy some you won't be disappointed !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful and quiet This is one of the lesser expensive high velocity fans. It is ready out of the box. 3 speeds, tilt lock just clicks into predefined positions. You can point it straight up but only one notch down. So at the top of the stairs pointing down you'd have to anchor it. the fan does have screw hole wall mounts so you could easily hang it on a wall or ceiling and tilt it out or down. in high speed, it's too loud to sleep but low is not bad. My AC went out and this fan at least moved the air around the house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful, and they set on a window sill We've now used them all summer to cool our house in the evenings and early mornings. They set on a window sill and are far more powerful than the typical window fan unit. The only downside is that a window won't close around them due to the shape, if that matters. Yes, they're louder than a smaller fan, but not unreasonably loud considering their size and the amount of air they move. We're very happy. Bought four total and use them daily.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Floor Fan The fan efficiently circulates the air. It has 3 speeds. It is noisy and its handle is not large enough for a man's hand.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Returned it as it is too loud I purchased this brand and model as I have another one that is about 8 to 10 years old. I only use the slow setting and it (my old one) works great and is whisper quiet. I returned the new one I purchased in October 2016 because its low setting is too loud. I exchanged it for another and the 2nd one is too loud too so I returned it for a refund. As far as moving air is concerned, it works great but a fan is a fan. I also acknowledge that my desire to have a quiet fan may be a higher priority than people who just want a fan to move air.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WAY TOO NOISY!!! Bought this fan yesterday to help circulate air in my bedroom so I could use less central air. Turned it on the LOWEST setting and it was extremely loud (read: ROAR)! I have had many fans in my life and I could not believe how loud this was. I couldn't sleep with it on so I returned it. It may be good for the garage or somewhere far away where you can't hear it. Other reviews say it was not loud...I would recommend they get their hearing checked.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent fan, returned due to wobble This fan moves a lot of air and is reasonably quiet. However, the the fan blade assembly was a little off-center on the the unit I purchased which caused some wobbling. I ended up returning the fan to the store with the intention of exchanging it for the same thing. I was impressed that the return clerk said I could open another one and test it at the store before purchasing it. After walking over to the fan section to pick one up I changed my mind and ended up getting an all metal fan (http://www.homedepot.com/p/20-in-High-Velocity-Floor-Fan-SFC1-500BI/202757016). So, overall, it's a pretty good fan, but check it at the store for wobble if you can.
