I never thought I would be giving a review of a fan I purchased but this fan is the exception.
I spend a lot of time in my garage and Georgia summer heat, I needed something to move the air. I saw that there was a stack of these on sale and figured I would give it a try. I was not disappointed.
This fan moves a ton of air, even on the low setting. It's not the quietest fan in the world, but it's not obnoxiously loud either. I liked it so much that I went out and bought a second fan this past weekend.
There are slots on the bottom of the fan so you can screw it to a wall or ceiling. I cannot vouch for the strength of the base though, I have mind sitting on a bench and on the floor.
Bottom line, this was a great purchase.

Since this fan is replacing one a year old that just died from sticking bearings due to cheap lube oil I cannot say too much about it. I will disassemble it, clean out the bearings, and install good oil if I want it to last. This problem is common to all brands of Chinese made fans!

This is one of the lesser expensive high velocity fans. It is ready out of the box. 3 speeds, tilt lock just clicks into predefined positions. You can point it straight up but only one notch down. So at the top of the stairs pointing down you'd have to anchor it. the fan does have screw hole wall mounts so you could easily hang it on a wall or ceiling and tilt it out or down. in high speed, it's too loud to sleep but low is not bad. My AC went out and this fan at least moved the air around the house.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by FanUser WAY TOO NOISY!!!
Bought this fan yesterday to help circulate air in my bedroom so I could use less central air. Turned it on the LOWEST setting and it was extremely loud (read: ROAR)! I have had many fans in my life and I could not believe how loud this was. I couldn't sleep with it on so I returned it. It may be good for the garage or somewhere far away where you can't hear it. Other reviews say it was not loud...I would recommend they get their hearing checked.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by scottls Cyclone 20" fan is "Very Noisy", and found Better!
I use 2 fans to push the Hot air out of the house in the cool of the evening (all night during heat waves/ close windows at 7pm).
I open screen doors/windows, on the other end of the house for flow thru...-
This lowers inside temps in the house 15-20f, and I rarely have to use the AC!
I've been using the WindMachine fans (on High), and they don't make enough noise to interfere with my watching TV/telephone....
I thought I'd give the Cyclone a try, and see if it pushed more air?-
It was Very Noisy(Roar!), and I couldn't hear the TV, or phone ringing...!
I'll stick with the WindMachine fans!

No problems, strong enough, a little high priced, I trust it will last a long time for the cost.
