Customer Questions & Answers

I am need of connecting a 240v outlet to plug a stove, will the Pass & Seymour 30 Amp Self-Grounding Locking Single Outlet Receptacle be the right one

it is to connect a standard stove electric range. Will this be more than sufficient?
Asked by: Anonymous
Look at the plug on the stove. Then find a receptacle to match. If you don't have a plug on the stove, contact whomever you purchased the stove from and find out what kind of plug and receptacle you should have.

do you have a diagram or can you describe, how to wire this 120v?

Asked by: roduo
Refering to the first explanation; you have 2 - 120 volt circuits coming to this receptacle. That is, connect to "HOT" and "Neutral" and you get 125Volt. Connect to "HOT" and "HOT" and you get 240Volt. It also has the "green" Ground, for chassis grounding, this is separate from the "Neutral", which is only used when you need "120Volt". Hope this helps.

I am wiring in an emergency generator. I see the green screw for the ground; however, I do not have a silver for the neutral.

240v 30 amp 4 wire generator. Is the neutral screw on the same side as the ground?
Asked by: swampfox
You need to provide more information on the type of connections/wiring available on your generator. I'd strongly recommend you gather that info and meet with the store clerk for electrical. Does your generator put out 120Volt Only, or 120/240Volt. The wiring is different for each, as are the connections to the house.

Is (L1430RCCV3) a 3 phase receptacle? if so are all three wires hot and one ground?

Asked by: Vince
Thank you for your question regarding Legrand(Model L1430RCCV3) Turnlok Single Receptacle 4wire 30amp 125/250v. The L1430RCCV3 is not 3phase so it has two HOTS, one NEUTRAL, and one GROUND.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good outlet for the money. Purchased this outlet online and had my son pick it up for me. Outlet was unavailable from other home improvement stores in my area, supposedly due to storm Sandy. I cannot figure out why they don't restock quicker. Outlet was what I needed to complete hook up of transfer switch for generator at home. Price was good and outlet of good quality. I'm sure there are better ones out there but not at this price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Because of it's smaller size I could use a standard electrical box to install it. I had limited space to install the box and plug outside. This smaller size worked better for me and I saved money in the box and cover purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cooper brand is better, IMO I got this at the same time as a Cooper CWL1430R. The Pass Seymour will only handle up to 10 AWG wire, while the Cooper will handle up to an 8 AWG. Also, the wire connectors were sturdier on the Cooper.
