Product Overview

Peace of mind, all the time. The SmartlockPro Self-Test GFCI tests itself even if you forget. Designed to meet the latest UL standard for auto-monitoring (self-test) our complete line of self-test GFCIs periodically conduct an automatic internal test to confirm that it can respond to a ground fault. With the slimmest profile on the market, the device allows for fast and easy installation, while Leviton's patented reset lockout mechanism prevents reset of the GFCI if it is not wired or operating correctly. The SmartlockPro Self-Test GFCI is the smart choice in ground fault circuit interrupter protection.

  • Provides continuous ground fault protection - detects and trips on actual ground fault even when self-test is being conducted
  • On initial power up, tests the GFCI within 3 seconds
  • Auto-monitoring exceeds the UL requirement
  • Auto adapts and shifts to more frequent testing if potential problem is detected
  • Status indicator light provides simple, intuitive feedback on power and protection status as well as indication of line/load reversal
  • Patented lockout action prevents reset if GFCI is damaged and cannot respond to a ground fault
  • Electronics are designed to minimize any false triggers
  • Reduced depth makes it easier to install in any electrical box, even shallow ones
  • Terminals allow for easy wiring options-back and side wire capable
  • External back wire clamps provide visual indication of proper wire seating
  • Withstands high torque and resists wire pullout
  • Standard brass self-grounding clip
  • Trip threshold meets or exceeds UL requirements for tripping time
  • Improved immunity to high-frequency noise reduces nuisance tripping
  • Advanced electronics design provides superior resistance to electrical surges and over-voltages
  • Compatible with all decora devices and wall plates; available in select decora colors
  • UL fed spec WC-596 rated

I have one similar to this in a bathroom that has stopped working and I assume the plug is bad and needs replacing. I am not sure if it is 15 or 20 amp. Is there a way to tell? If it is 15 Amp is it a problem to replace with 20 Amp? The house is in Corona.
Asked by: Corona
the amperage is usually stamped on the mounting flange where the screw s hold it to the box, and looking at the plug entry slots there is one that has a " T " sort of design on the larger slot , usually on the left side if the ground ( round pin ) on bottom, sometimes GFCI will-can quit. and some do not like damp locations, lots of steam, ? loose wires on screw s, JR Massachusetts,

I have a refrigerator in my garage that is plug in to a 15amp GFI 125 volt outlet and it keeps tripping. Should I go to a 20AMP GFCI instead?

Asked by: Ben
Refrigerators don't need a 20 amp breaker. I'd have a technician check the refrigerator for a problem. It's tripping the breaker for a reason

Rated 1 out of 5 by from bad product I bought this from Homedepot. I found that it was a returned outlet since there was a piece of wire left in the outlet. The outlet didn't work. I have to return it back to the store.

This outlet is used for any place that is near water, i.e. kitchen, bathroom. You should use 20 amp for those areas. Ask your builder or town building department how far from the sink these should be placed. You may be required to use a 20 amp receptacle when it's the only outlet on the circuit (usually in bathrooms there is one but kitchens could have two or more.

The "load" side is taped over with a strip so that the installer doesn't mistakenly connect the line to them. Although it's sold as a "slim" design, requiring less box depth, it seemed like a standard-sized unit to me. The "reset" does require a firm press, more than expected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like it should... Once I determined which set of wires was load & line (the outlets won't work if you get them backwards) it worked like a charm. If you are the person doing the work just mark the cables as you disconnect them. I had to figure it out after someone else removed the wiring.

Be aware of the load and line connection points as these were the reverse of the 12 year old outlet that was being replaced. Found the indicator LED nice for detection that circuit was tripped.
