500-Watt 180 Degree Occupancy Sensor - Light Almond

Frequently Bought Together

Product Overview

Leviton offers many products that will help lower electrical costs and add convenience to everyday living. By simply replacing standard switches with occupancy sensors reduces energy consumption and extends bulb life. Leviton's Decora Manual-On Occupancy Sensor Switch complies with California Title 24 by requiring the user to manually turn the lights ON but will automatically turn the lights OFF when a space is unoccupied. It ensures that lights are not left ON unnecessarily for hours at a time. It uses "passive infrared technology" in order to detect human presence in a room, and respond to the infrared heat people naturally emit to monitor a specific area. When this "heat" is sensed, the lights will stay ON in the room, and then turn the lights OFF, when the space is vacated or are unoccupied. Compatible with Decora screwless snap-on wall plates (sold separately).

500-Watt 180 Degree Occupancy Sensor - Light Almond is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the best This is my first "Occupancy Sensor" and I heard they were fickle. This one doesn't always turn on and when I put compact fluorescent bulbs in it doesn't seem to turn them off. I do not like it and may return it. But it does kind of work.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well with incandescents but not with CFLs As others have said, it just makes CFLs flicker but doesn't turn them full on or off. The light level sensor is a nice feature, it can be set so that the light doesn't turn on if it is daytime or if there is another light on in the room. Takes a bit of trial and error to get it set just right though. The timer and light level sensitivity are both continuously adjustable without discreet steps. the coverage area is pretty good, it really does seem to cover 180 degrees. The range is a little low though, I have some rooms where the switch is too far from the doors for it to notice someone entering the room until they are well into it. The behaviour with a two way switch is a little weird and the wiring diagram has some unnecessary connections. Flipping the secondary light switch turns the light on, but not off, you just have to wait for the timer to turn it off. Overall, I'm pleased with the product, but I won't buy another one because it won't work with CFLs. I can justify not returning the one I have because I have it installed in a hallway with a short timer and the frequent cycling would wear out a CFL anyway. I'm still trying to find a unit that works as well as this one but with CFLs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well with incandescent lights Unlike the other reviewers I read the package that specifically says, "Not for use with CFL lamps." However, I wanted to use it for LEDs, and I was hoping that would be OK. After reading the instructions and installing anyway, I found out why the instructions say that it doesn't work with electronic starting lights (they state that magnetic starters will work). What I did find though is that if there is more than one light bulb being controlled by this device and at least one of those bulbs is incandescent, then it works perfectly--no flickering.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from WORKS WELL ! Works well but you cannot adjust the range of coverage. Location of the switch should be considered before purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dont use with CFL's I bought this motion sensor to use in my bathroom. The package did not say it can't be used with CFL's (like other items do), yet when I got it installed, it either doesn't turn off or just keeps the CFL's flickering. I'm not sure if it works with reg bulbs since I don't have any to test it out. This is getting returned.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product Installed several of these throughout the house. The wiring is usually pretty straightforward, I did have some trouble installing 2 in a 3way config to control one light switch on the stairs but I got it worked out after testing the wires with a meter. The range is great, but if you stand still too long it'll shut off. This can be fixed by just increase the auto-off time. Overall a great value!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A piece of junk1 I bought this to power a bathroom exhaust fan that was previously operated by a simple two-pole switch. When set to "Auto", this switch doesn't provide enough amps to start the fan. The fan just buzzes. If I set the manual override to "On", the fan works fine. A waste of money for the auto-on feature.
