CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.2 out of 5 by 89 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This shop light was everything I was looking for! I use the shop lights for starting seeds. Because I use two lights per shelf and I have 7 shelves of growing space, that means I need to put 14 shop lights in a small space. The lights were a perfect size and weight, they were easy to assemble and put light bulbs in and very easy to hang. Best of all they were reasonably priced. I have them on 24 hours a day during growing season and it never gets too warm and they never fail me. I searched on line for shop lights and Home Depot was the only place that actually had what I wanted. April 15, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Ballast failed after 1 year The construction on this lamp fixture is good but the ballast is of poor quality. After the ballast failed I took the lamp apart and did a search on the ballast and the one that comes with this light (Keystone Technology # 240TPES) is known to have a high failure rate. I learned that an electronic ballast is more reliable and Lowes has under $15 lights with electronic ballasts which I am going to get to replace this one. Look at the specs on this light - the ballast will only work down to 60 F and my shop gets to that temperature (and probably below) regularly. The electronic ballasts will work down to 0 F. Since my light is technically still under warrantee, I wrote Keystone (Lithonia directs you to the ballast manufacturer for claims) to file a claim but I am not hopeful since Keystone claims their is a date of manufacture stamped on the ballast to prove it is under warrantee but there is no such stamp. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Lights look good, easy to install--but ballast is not the best quality Even thou a read the many bad reviews, I still bought two. 1st unit has been working great. The 2nd unit had to be exchanged twice. After reading the manual, it states that the ballast should be "seasoned" by keeping the lights on for 48-72 hrs straight. As this suggestion doesn't make any sense(financially), I did however leave it on for about 8 hrs for two days and has been working correctly for a week now. No "humming" after the seasoning. Just make sure that both lights are on(not flickering or one bulb on) before flipping the switch on for good. I am aware that these units are not the best of quality, but I was/am on a very tight budget. If you can afford a better shop light, do so. I kept these lights b/c I enjoy tickering with things and making them work. If you do decide to buy/keep them, just run them for 8 hrs for 2 days. July 28, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Should have read the box better The light works best, if at all, at temperatures above 60 degrees F. I bought it for my unheated garage, and it did not light. December 21, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by product worked for 10 days As soon as I plugged it in the bulbs started to flicker. Then it just got worse until it totally stopped working. No happy with product at all. They just do not make things like they used to. January 14, 2014
