Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Alamo Great High Quality Router for small routing jobs...Nice size...Easy to use..Well Made..
Nice small hand held router...My first router and it does a good job with things like door hinges etc...Smooth running and nicely made...the depth adjustment could not be easier and comes with nice accessories...Just a note I am as mentioned just starting out with routing however worth pointing out you will want to buy some good router bits to go with your purchase. Comes with one small router bit and I tried using it to route out a long mortise in a piece of red oak stock a hardwood and the bit got hotter than heck...started smoking and could no longer cut before I made the length I was cutting...Luckily I had some Vermont American mortising bits and once I loaded one of those it went through the wood like butter. I will no doubt graduate to a larger router for large projects but for smaller simple jobs it cant be beat and a great price.

The quality is apparent as soon as you hold it in your hand and turn it on. The aluminum body is solid and fits snuggly to the fixed or plunge base while being able to side effortlessly into them. They lock down firmly but with minimal effort. This set sacrifices some power and heft to larger more expensive choices but you will have to ask yourself if that extra power or size is necessary or even desirable.

I sell my work for a living and have accumulated a few bulky routers and really needed a lighter weight version that was easy to handle with enough power to cut through dense wood cleanly. So far so good.
I'm more than satisfied with this product so far. I like the one tool bit change option. The overall quality feels good and the bit depth remain precise after setup. It has more than enough power to work its way through oak, which is the hardest wood I've used with it so far, without burning the wood.
Overall build quality seems to be declining for a few of the other major brands I looked at. So far I'm happy with this product.
The only con on this one is the depth adjustment is a little tight and the stepped feature is a little difficult to turn at times. There might be some debris in there that could solve this issue and it hasn't been enough of an annoyance yet for me to see what's going on.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Woodworer This is a powerful router yet easy to handle when routing on edge such as when doing mortises for hinges.
I find I am using this router more and more as the size is so easy to handle in smaller areas. The fit and of the two bases is so good that it is quick and easy to change them. I even started to take the router out of the base to change bits. The on of switch is in a convenient location for turning the router off without taking your hands off the base. The one problem I have is with the plunge base as the lock to hold the depth does not stay secure while the router is in operation.
