I was looking at the display and found a unit from last November that someone forgot to remove the On Sale tag $149.00. I bought it right away

For the size of the battery, this is a surprisingly powerful drill. I bought it for a big project, a 16'*26 cedar deck, because of the torque rating and the adjustable chuck. It was strong enough for 99% of the work, which was mostly driving deck screws, but also 1/4" lag bolts into wet pressure treated lumber. The light weight and good ergonomics is a *huge* advantage over an 8 hour day. The disadvantage of 12 volts (vs. 18) was that you do have to change batteries slightly more often, but not enough to bother me. This drill completely replaces my older 18 volt NiCad drill. For the odd task that needed more oomph, like a hole saw, I used a 1/2" corded drill. From now on, I will not carry 18 volts around with me all day.
It would be nice if this drill came in a kit with the impact driver (Milwaukee, hello?). I bought the bare M12 impact driver.
The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that the electric brake is so aggressive that occasionally it spins the hand tightened chuck open, and the bit drops out. This was a bit of a nuisance. I’ll be talking to Milwaukee about this.

I expected this drill to be a great lightweight drill my wife could use for doing small jobs around the house. I was wrong. This is now my go to drill for EVERYTHING I do around the house. The torque and responsiveness is amazing. It feels more like an instrument then a tool. Having to batteries right in the kit is great and allows for continuous use. The batteries themselves don't take very long to charge and the tool has a life indicator built right into the tool. I have not used the tool for any large projects so I can not comment on its extended life.
The size of the drill is perfect. It is light weight and fits great in your hand. The belt clip is a nice add on but it is a little stiff and tight to use quickly. I may bend the clip out a little to make it a little easier to catch on my belt. However, the clip works perfectly with my Husky tool bag which has some clips on the sides so I can hang the drill right on the outside of my bag.
The case is another item to rave about. Everything fits right in the case and instead of a bunch of clutter in the garage with my other tools I just have a neat red little package on my shelf. The case is sturdy and easy to handle.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SnowRacer64 Great torque for it's compact size
I bought this drill to replace an old battery powered drill that couldn't screw in wood deck screws at all. This drill/driver has the torque to screw in 3" deck screws. I can work outside on the deck without having to bring my corded drill and a troublesome 100 foot extension cord. Other nice things are the 2 speed drill switch that allows you to go fast enough to actually drill metal, the LED light that shows what you're drilling, adjustable torque settings, and a keyless chuck. It's amazing this is so powerful with small 12 volt batteries. It comes with 2 batteries, so there's a backup. The drill is easy to maneuver because there's no big battery box at the end of the handle.

I hear Milwaukee products are great. Mine however, had a bad battery right out of the box. I stayed away from the cheaper brands because of what I thought was a great brand. Hopefully this is just a one off issue, as I am going to exchange it for another Milwaukee drill.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WesF Great all rounder cordless
Used this indoors and outdoors doing everything from hanging pictures to building a deck. Indoors this thing is amazing. It has plenty of power for small tasks, but most importantly its very compact, well balanced, has sufficient charge, and has a little LED light that can really help with low lighting. Really came in handy when doing cabinets. Building a deck, I had to change the batteries often, but every time the battery drained was other battery was fully charged (about an hour of continuous drilling, but the battery takes roughly 30 minutes to charge). It had plenty of power to build the deck, but I noticed the lower the charge, the more inconsistent the power came. Still, was impressed it was able to handle the task. Wouldn't recommend this to a contractor that does heavy duty work, but for the unprofessional DIYer or general user, I would definitely recommend this for its quality for its price.
