No, no battery or charger included, just the tool and it's manual. Once you've accumulated a few batteries, it becomes a nice option to have, the tool-only purchase.

Answer:
Tool only does mean no battery, I too was a little surprised when I went to pick up the saw and found that it did not include blades, charger or battery. That's why I ended up buying the accompanying drill that had two batteries and a charger. If I had bought everything separately it would have cost me quite a bit. For an extra $30 I got a drill with case too!

Answer:
You have to check through the Specifications to be sure...But usually that does mean only the tool, no battery or case. The only thing they will sometimes come with an adjustment wrench if needed.

Yes it does mean no battery. But if you have an 18V Milwaukee drill, or other tool, that uses the same batteries, you're all set.

Answer:
Yes, “tool only” means that the battery and charger are sold separately. Many customers buy the tool this way when they already own Milwaukee batteries and chargers in the M18 system. If you would like to purchase the tool with a battery and charger, the correct model number is 2625-21.

I did not get a case. I bought the tool only because I already have two batteries for other tools. I believe you get a bag if you buy the saw and battery.

The 2625-20 Milwaukee® HACKZALL® M18™ Cordless LITHIUM-ION One-Handed Recip Saw does not include a carrying case. However, the 2625-21CT and 2625-21 HACKZALL® M18™ Cordless LITHIUM-ION One-Handed Recip Saw Kits with compact or high capacity batteries both include a contractor bag and are available on HomeDepot.com.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 62 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Milwaukee Sazall This is the 2nd Milwaukee Sazall that I have owned. It has been a very durable saw...high quality. June 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ergonomics at its best! If you have never used or purchased a Reciprocating saw, Hackzall, Sawzalls, etc. this is definitely for you. The other styles (Sawzalls) are much harder to hold steady and they put your arm in a bad position to use them which puts extra strain on your wrist. This ergonomic (tool only $99) Milwaukee Hackzall 18v fits in your hand like a sword and is easily manipulated to stay where you want it to cut with far less effort or force. I highly recommend this Hackzall and I also recommend the smaller version (tool only $89) Milwaukee Hackzall 12v. The 18v cuts about 20% faster than the 12v, but the 12v can fit into tiny places that need miracle cuts to be achieved. I purchased both and I am always using both for various tasks. April 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Good Tool For My Applications Great tool. Have used numerous times. I am very satisfied. Definitely heavy duty. Goes with my other Milwaukee tools. April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kicks a** I love this thing. Its so handy to be able to hold on to your workpiece with one hand and saw with the other. So far I have used it for demo, to cut metal threshold and to cut PVC for a sump pump install. Its harder on batteries than my drill or driver but still not bad at all. Its not a replacement for a Sawall all the time, for big demo I'd still use my corded saw. It is a replacement for light demo, a hacksaw and even for pruning trees and shrubs. March 29, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Milwaukee 18 volt Hackzall This hackzall is portable enough to keep in my tool box, yet it also has enough power to cut through a wide variety of items. It has a light that is activated when you pull the trigger. I also like that it can be used with one hand. The one I was using quit working after three years, so I took it to the Milwaukee repair center and it was fixed free of charge no questions asked. Thank goodness for the five year warranty. March 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by super handy This saw has plenty of power in a compact shell. I find myself looking for projects to use this on. #tiacrew March 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I cut down 2 pine trees I have 2 pine trees damaged in the storm. I tried to push them back. But did not work out. I decided to cut them down. I found this saw, and went to Homedepot this afternoon. Even I knew it is tool-only, but the tool-only package still made me hesitate for a while because I had some Dewalt and Bosch tools. But never owned a Milwaukee. It is clear that paying another $220 + tax to get a charger and 2 batteries for it is a bad idea. Milwaukee successfully won my business. I got the 2897 Fuel combot set. The cashier gave me 10% dicount and a $25 coupon (can be used next time) to open a Homedepot credit card account. So I thought it is a good deal to get this saw and a brushless Fuel set for $402 in total. I did this partially because I have my Dewalt compact tool lost after our moving. I need another compact tool. Originally I thought I need to charge the batteries first. But I noticed those batteries still have some juice left. I cannot wait to give it a shot. I have used it to cut donw 2 2-3 inch pine trees, and also cut some branches off to make it easy for me to put them into the trash can. After I got all of these done (not finished the branche cutting yet, around 1/3 done), it was a little bit dark outside. I went back to my house and found I still have not run out of battery yet. Maybe it is bad to use a not fully charged battery. But it really works. I remember a review said the battery only can last 15 seconds. I knew he/she got a lemon. It does not make sense for a manufacturer to release a product has such a poor performance. So far I like this tool. March 6, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by very good product and deliverd quickly very good powerful long lasting battery charges very quickly like the charge remaining indicator very handy looks good March 1, 2016
