Customer Questions & Answers

Does this nailer shoot DA or FN style brads?

Asked by: Rob
I just bought this 15 gauge nailer. At the same time I bought nails for the gun, both DN and FN. The FN nails were made by Porter Cable and packaged with line "FN nails for DN nailers" I was hopeful! They worked perfectly! So this gun shoots both, which gives it huge flexibility, and job coverage. I nailed the baseboards and cabinet veneers with the FN nails, which you can barely notice and the door casings and frames with DN for the extra holding power. Both work perfectly!

Can this nailer be used to blind nail tongue and groove pine flooring? If not, is there another cordless that will?
Asked by: woodsman
Depending on thickness of the flooring I would say it should do up to 3/4" on SOME hardwoods (doubt about good brazilian cherry or mahogany) since bostitch flooring staples are same gauge. The hold however won't be the same as flooring staple since there's no bridging that staples provide and it will require a lot of nails. I usually use 15GA in spots where flooring gun can't be used and hold is best out of other finish nailers. As far as other guns it depends on thickness of your floor, since some are adjustable for different thickness flooring while others are set for specific one the. Flooring gun is the best option I would say though.

Can i use this Milwaukee 15 - Gauge finish nailer for fence , Dewalt fraiming have more negative than positive feedback
Asked by: Dave
I used mine for trim work, but I think this would be suitable for fence construction, assuming the 15ga nails are acceptable. The machine would certainly have sufficient power to complete the job.

M18 FUEL 18-Volt 15-Gauge Angled Finish Nailer Kit is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 75.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from excelent product I watched this tool online for months and waited for the sale price of $259. For the full price it would have been a bit much to spend just to not carry a compressor. For the sale price I am extremely happy. This tool functions perfectly. It's a little on the heavy side but still beats lugging a compressor around. Adjusts nail depth without a problem. I see in some reviews pressing the power button has been mentioned. This gun fires hundreds of nails in a single charge so I'm not experiencing much of a loss of time while pressing the power button two or three times in a work day. So happy to have this gun. It's awesome.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice gun Works well. I use it all the time. After about two months of using it every few days the firing pin broke but I took it to Home Depot and exchanged for a new one for free. Before that never had any problems with jamming and it would last most of the day on one battery.

Throw away the compressor hose and get to work in less time than you can set-up your bulky compressor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best nailer This nailer is incredible. No hesitation and sinks nails every time into any material. I only wish the 18 gauge Milwaukee fuel nailer performed this well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 15 gauge angled kit I found this kit online and it was on sale for $239. A ridiculous price for Milwaukee products. It came with the nailer, charger and 2.0 battery. It takes the same nails as my Hitachi nailer which is super convenient, 15ga DA nails. Fired around 200 shots today, both 2 and 2 1/2 nails while casing windows and a double slider. No jams, left 1 or 2 nails I had to sink by hand with my nail set. Overall a FANTASTIC product, especially at $239. At the full $399 I'd bump it down half a star. I've also used the $400 Dewalt cordless nailer, I prefer this unit. I shoots faster, no lag at all. B It does has a little recoil to it though, not a deal breaker at all.

I got over that quickly, and have been driving just as fast as I can with my pneumatics - with less noise. It easily sinks the nails, but if it doesn't, the adjustment knob is so easy even I can operate it. So far it's been a welcome addition to my kit. I'm not sure if it will completely replace my Sencos in the shop, but there is little chance I'll be dragging that compressor out to another jobsite again

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than I expected Own a lot of tools, been in the business 30 years, I'm used to Milwaukee, however I own multiple brands, not one company makes the best of everything... heard a few negative reviews on this gun, however still took the plunge... I'm a fussy guy indeed, with all that said... love this gun, works a treat, fast, quiet, efficient and simple to use, the depth adjuster us simple, accurate and very effective... pretty sure I'll buy another to go with it! Yes, it's that good, very pleasantly surprised indeed

This Milwaukee nailer is a little heavier than a pneumatic finish nailer, but the convenience of cordless and hoseless operation more than compensates for a little extra weight. I do note that the mechanical impact that my hand endures when I fire a nail with the Milwaukee nailer is significantly greater than with a conventional pneumatic finish nailer or, for that matter, my Ridgid pneumatic framing nailer. This is a little problematic for me because I have fairly significant osteoarthritis in the joint at the base of my thumb. So far, having fired only a couple hundred 2" and 2-1/2" 15-gauge nails, I have experienced not a single misfire and I'm still on the first battery charge. I really like the fact that I won't have to take my compressor, extension cord, and hose with me on finish carpentry jobs.
