Customer Questions & Answers

Is this suitable for a 40 gallon hot water tank?

Not sure if this is "heavy duty" enough for cutting power to the tank.
Asked by: pictoucan
It's hard to answer this question based on the information given. This switch is suited just fine to switch power on devices that utilize power up to 30A at 240v. Take a look at the specs on your hot water heater and see if the draw is within those parameters. If it is, then this box should work fine provided it is indoors. If you're unsure, it is best to leave it up to a pro. 240v at 30A is a lot of power and things shouldn't be left to chance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent disconnect I used this disconnect for my 220v air compressor in my home shop. This box was inexpensive, good quality, was easy to install and performed flawlessly. Not much more to say about it. It does the job well and I'd certainly recommend it for a similar application.
