Product Overview

  • No tank removal or tools required
  • Helps to save water and money
The HYR451T combines two products that will increase your toilet's efficiency and save water and money. No leakier flapper, tangled chains or handles that have to be jiggled. The Total Repair Dual Flush Valve quickly and easily converts a standard toilet into a two-handle, dual flush toilet. The short center lever is the Quick Flush setting that uses significantly lower water volumes for liquids and paper - the setting needed 4 out of 5 times. The second complete push lever at end is the Full Flush that uses the normal amount of water for solids. Designed for drop-in installation, the HYR451T can be installed in without tools and without having to remove the tank. The Total Repair Kit can be calibrated to adjust the exact amount of water needed and detects leaks.

Is the j tube included?

Asked by: Stephen14k
If you are referring to the fill tube, the answer is yes as the assembly that connects to the flush lever replaces the fill tube.

Half flushes itself about every hour

The unit makes a flushing noise where it half flushes itself about every hour. Is that normal for the unit?
Asked by: SS
That’s not normal but I think we can stop it from adding more water to the tank by getting a more secure fit. You need a stainless steel screw clamp to secure the flush valve to the fill pipe that little cable tie is under engineered for the job. The clamp will do the job and cost under a buck. I like to add a little Teflon base sealing lube to the blue bottom of the flush valve for even a better seal, this is optional.

The threads on the filler stem were actually split. Also, there were no instructions enclosed and some parts were already in the installed position. Replaced at Lowes.

I have had it for 3 years and am constantly trying to figure out what’s wrong with it so I can repair it. I have two toilets with this hardware. One or both of my toilets go out of commission 3 or 4 times a year. I have already had to replace parts on both toilets. Currently, I am trying to diagnose a new problem. In addition affter 6 months or so, I had to call a plumber out for drain stoppage. Turns out when I use the water saving feature, it doesn’t have enough power to flush the line. So I’m not getting use of that feature. Save yourself the agony and install something else.

I installed following the directions (so reasonably Ok instalation directions), got my kids to learn how to use the 2 flush system (easy). The package when I bought it had a five-year guarantee. Current packaging has a limited lifetime warranty, I think, for one 1 year. Since I had to replace it, I decided not to buy that product again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works ok Full flush works gpod, but the half flush doesnt work as expected. The setting will take almost full flush qty water to flush 1 piece test tissue. So not much water saving.. Also the handle confuses with both on same direction, pushing down. I have fluidmaster and it works great. It has one handle push up for half and down for full flush. Saves lot of water.

It has worked perfectly. You do have to have to be careful attaching to the fill spout as those can be brittle. This was an engineering compromise but a decent solution. It uses a zip tie as the fastener to secure it to the fill spout and a rubber grommet to stop vertical movement. You have to tighten the zip tie as tight as you can considering the condition of your spout. I had to take my time with the rubber grommet on the fill spout. The fill valve is pretty much standard. There was some kind of setting to ensure the water level compared to the fill spout height is correct. The flushing component seats where the old flapper used to go. That is the most likely place for leaking by if not seated correctly or held down by the grommet securely. They are using offset pressure to hold the seat in place as direct pressure is nearly impossible without a whole new flapper seat.
