feThe kit comes with 5 self drilling screws, for the cleat side that goes on the wall. I have two of the screws up, each in a stud. Do I need the 3 other screws up (in wall anchors then, since there are no studs in between) for it to be safe?

If I use two 200lb cleats, side by side, will that increase the amount of weight it will support.

I have a cabinet 37" wide x 48" high x 11.25 " deep that weighs 90 lbs. I will be putting about 100 lbs in it.

I would like to make sure that if I use 2 of the Ook 200lb French cleats, side by side, it will give me some assurance that it will hold the weight if I happen to exceed the 200 lbs.

Note: I generally used toggle bolts to mount to the wall for heavier objects as I feel that the supplied fasteners might pull out of the sheetrock or wall board.

It's crazy that you're asking about this cleat today. I used one to hang a heavy oak dart board cabinet in the office over a year ago and just took it down today as we are moving!
Personally I don't think you need two if you can hit the studs. If you can't do that and want to spread the weight out with toggles I guess that makes sense, but I'd really try to focus on hitting studs if I were you with Read More

It worked perfectly. Included proper hardware. Good instructions. Loved the plug in level. We will be using this again to hang heavy mirrors. The thing I like most is that you could attach the hardware without applying too much pressure to the object; I was concerned , not anymore. We drilled a starter and screwed into wood, then drilled a started and screwed into the drywall. Almost a gentle application that turned exceptionally sturdy. JE SALUE LES FRANÇAIS!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! I made a wall hanging with a mirror and coat hooks out of an antique headboard. It is extremely heavy. My husband didn't believe this system would hold it, especially without drywall anchors. We followed the instructions and it works beautifully! Very securely in the wall. The levels that come with the hardware were handy and easy to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I used this product to hang a heavy mirror in our master bath. Originally I was going to build a set of french cleats, but found this product in the store and thought I would give it a try. I secured the cleats by drilling into concrete. There are plenty of pre-drilled holes on the cleat which gives you several options when securing to drywall, concrete, studs, etc. The hardware provided would probably do well for drywall, but did not work too well in concrete. I ended up using Tapcons in the concrete, which worked perfectly. Overall I was very pleased with the product. The cleat only added about 1/4 inch between the drywall and the mirror, which was perfect for clearance with the other bathroom items (lighting, faucets, etc). I would definitely recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Steady as can be I made a king headboard from a very old, heavy, solid wood door. I used this french cleat to hang it on the wall behind the bed and it hangs there steady as a rock. After a year of heavy use, it hasn't budged an inch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Head Board wall mount I used this french cleat to wall mount a 40 lb. head board to the wall. Worked perfect. The cleat does the trick and screws are tough and hold well in dry wall, without the stud. Be sure to rinse the french cleat with water, as there are a lot of small metal shavings from production still on the cleat. Manufacture should have done this already. Overall, a good product at a good price. Can't go wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super strong I used this hanger to hang a 5' long, 2' wide piece of heavy plywood that I upholstered to use as the back rest for my kitchen booth. I've had it up for a year or more and its solid. This is a great, secure way to hang a heavy, flat 'something' on your wall. the 20" length hanger is overkill for anything but the heaviest painting. If you look at the picture, its simple to install; I recommend sliding the bars together and flipping them over to see which bar goes on the wall, which goes on the item before you hang it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product I used this cleat to mount a 5f t x 1 ft mirror horizontally. I cut the cleat in half and spaced the halves along the long edge to distribute the load evenly. Excellent results.
