Answer:
The Sure-Vents will work in a RV application with consideration. When the RV is parked, it acts like a home but when it is moving, there are added conditions. The AAV may not function properly due to wind speed producing positive pressure. The AAV will stay closed because of positive pressure. Once the RV comes to a stop, the AAV will work normally.
Also, a RV is not governed under plumbing code

Customer Reviews

Rated 2.6 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cheap, not robust. Not a real "AAV" If you need a cheater valve as an alternative to a rooftop drain waste vent, or for an island sink, don't get this one. It's just a little flap of rubber. A quality Automatic Air Vent has a gravity seal and mesh to keep out debris top and bottom. Look for products from RectorSeal or Studor, which carry certifications for this purpose. Note that pluming codes vary by location. December 17, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by does not meet residential codes Fortunately I read in a plumbing book that spring loaded vents do not meet code even though they are available. they fail over time. what you need is an AAV Air Admittance Valve. I will have to return this. December 15, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by not for home use this is not rated for use in building plumbimg systems, it is for rv use only and the packaging does not indicate that and it is right next to the ones that are for plumbing systems so i will be returning this and getting the part rated for use in buildings. September 15, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not approved for use in houses This product is approved for use in recreational vehicles and often in manufactured houses (mobile homes). It is not an air admittance valve and does not meet the requirements of typical plumbing codes. May 22, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good vent for kitchen sink I had a roof vent completely clog up, so I cut the pipe running into sink and replaced it with this valve. Works great, no gass smell and sink drains better.. October 10, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked great My sink was draining very slow, changed this out and works great now. Happy wife also. January 14, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great Installed easily. I had an existing vent in the basement which didn't seem right so I blocked it which made the stationary tub drain slowly. Tub now drains fast and no sewer smell. October 14, 2013
