Is the plug 4inches firm? Or is it smaller than 4 inches and expands to fit 4 inches? I need a plug that will fit into a 3.85" hole.

Will the 4 inch Gripper Mechanical Plastic Test Plug work to plug an old septic tank riser?

Our septic tank riser is a concrete tube. The now open hole is 4 inches in diameter. Thank you.
Asked by: Liesel
Yes, i used it to cover a clean out opening in my sanitary sewer line. The plug fit easily into the raised opening, and the wing nut was easy to turn by hand. The plug made a perfect seal and allowed me to easily remove it when necessary. Removing the plug was just as simple.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to install for plumbing pressure system tests or to plug a drain hole. This was recommended by a plumber friend to plug a drain hole to prevent water from backing up during rain storms. It was very easy to install with extra-large wing nut. It pressure seals at the end of the pipe as needed for plumbing system tests. ABS plastic.

I bought one and attempted to plug a toilet drain with it. It seemed tight, but fell into the drain after a couple of days. It cost me $2500 to get it out of the drain. DO NOT BUY THIS.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from it doesnt seal anything I tryed to keep a presure equal to 6 psi in 4" pvc pipe. It goes right through. I made sure my plugs are perfectly alighened and thight securerly. One of the nuts broke due to overthightening. Still lets the air with a hiss. Save time and try something else.
