Answer:
This carpet cleaner works as a pretreatment spray, a spot remover, and an extraction cleaner. There is no need for separate sprays to pretreat areas or remove spots. It is 3 products in 1.

I've used a shop vac before in place of a carpet cleaner when our Hoover hose had a hole in it. My only recommendation is that you use a narrow nozzle. Hope this helps!

I believe that the wet vac will work fine to extract the solution. How ever I would recommend rinsing to remove the residue and then extracting the rinse water and letting the carpet dry completely before use.

Answer:
Yes, you can use your wet/dry vac. You will probably want to use a scrub brush or something to rub it into the carpet after application. If you have an attachment for the vac that has a brush, you may want to use that instead of the normal wet pickup attachment.

Yes, it does get rid of "topical" smoke odors on the floor, Nothing will get rid of the odor in the walls if there was a heavy smoker in the space.

Since it says "OdoBan: Eliminates Odors" right on the label, I assumed it would get rid of unpleasant odors as well as clean the carpet.... If it doesn't, then the company should correct their label.

Our 3-in-1 is a Carpet Cleaner product and not an odor eliminator. Of course, if carpets do need to be cleaned this product may help in diminishing cigarette smoke odors.

Answer:
Yes, the 3-in-1 Carpet Cleaner can be used in any carpet cleaning machine. Use the 3-in-1 Carpet Cleaner in the same container designed specifically for the cleaning product. Be sure to rinse it first so as to not mix residue from one product with our product. If your machine has a heating element, do not turn it on; 3-in-1 Carpet Cleaner works best with cold water.

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 66 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great alternative to branded items easy choice- 2 oz. per gallon, while most others are 5 oz per gallon mix. Much better buy than the "branded" shampoos for my rug doctor machine. Works just as well, and maybe even a bit better- almost zero foaming - no need for adding the "de-foaming" liquid. When using this- all the others are just added expense without working better. Odo-Ban is tops in my book! July 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by OdoBan 3 in 1 Carpet Cleaner I own the Bissell big green machine and it is a monster when it comes to cleaning the carpets. The Bissell detergents do a very good job of cleaning carpets BUT they seem to attract dirt so I figured I would try this product. I did not use this as a pretreat but I did use Folex stain remover on my granddaughters accidental spills and stains. First observation was that this product has no smell . Secondly it did an amazing job of brightening my light gray/blue carpet which is about twenty years old. Thirdly the carpet seems to be staying clean and not soiling up as quickly as with the Bissell and Hoover detergents. All in all I am quite pleased with the performance of this product. June 4, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Did not work for me If you are looking for a product for pet urine smell I would try something else. This did not work for me. July 12, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Did not remove cat urine scent Saw the good reviews and was hoping this would do the job. Unfortunately did not do the job for me. Didn't get the car urine smell out. May 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasantly Surprised As a pet owner and parent of a toddler, there is always a need for carpet cleaning solution. We have one particular room the dog was fond of peeing in when he preferred dry carpet to wet grass. The carpet itself was fairly new and unstained but the odor was strong. We keep the door shut so the dog won't go in, but the first thing you smell when you enter the room is the residual odor or previous accidents. We are prepping that room for baby #2. I noticed when moving all the furniture out that the carpet also had a crunchy feel in places we had spot treated. I used Odoban in my upright carpet cleaner/extractor. I measured just as described on the label and did not pre-treat. I washed the carpet, turned the fan on in the room, and closed the door so it could dry. The next day, I was pleasantly surprised to not notice the lingering pet smell. The carpet also had a softer texture. There did not seem to be any residue, I was very pleased with the results and am planning on re-cleaning another room in the house. May 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic Carpet Cleaner I've used Bissell carpet cleaner, but the 3-IN-1 Carpet Cleaner is superior. I have 20+ year old carpets, which is MUCH harder to clean. Other products only faded old stains. I followed the instructions and pre-spotted. It worked after several passes. What I did was clean the entire carpet, then went over the first area again, which was like a 2nd pre-spotting (a few old stains needed several more passes). The stains were gone, which is miraculous. The old carpet hasn't been this clean since it was a lot newer. It costs more, but it's a very good value since it works so well. Plus, it does a much better job than expensive professionals. The one-gallon container will last a lot longer. Plus, you won't run out when you need it most, such as for accidents or dogs. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Oban I have a small dog and there are times when we don't make it out and this product takes care of spot and odor. I have used it for several years and always happy with results. April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Carpet Cleaner and ECO Friendly I love OdoBan products and this 3 in 1 Carpet Cleaner is the best. The eucalyptus scent is amazing and fresh. The solution will not harm your carpet cleaning machine. I have several high traffic areas in my home that even when it is vacuumed, still looked soiled. I set my shampooer to the high traffic setting and cleaned these areas with amazing results. March 30, 2016
