Answer:
With any type of wood product its important not to place wood directly onto dirt as it will obviously deteriorate over time. Level stepping stones or small slab of concrete will provide you a lasting outdoor shed.

There were no problems putting it together but you must read the instructions which are well written. You can download the instructions on the web to see what you are getting into. If you like building things, this is the kit for you. I would not recommend this kit for someone who is not handy with tools because it is a challenge which is part of the fun.

This product looks nice when completed, but requires some departures from the instructions. The box arrived with a hole, and a corresponding 3 " hole in one of the shingles on the back wall of the cabinet (there was no internal protection on the large sides of the box). I filled it with quite a bit of drywall patch, but it looks cheap. The roof shingles were supposed to be 3 sizes, but was packed with two of the same size, so I have two shingles that are 1" longer than the rest of the row. If you align the side walls with the base, you end up about 1 1/2" short on the trim boards above the door. I caulked the entire inside, and installed rubber seals around the doors (to keep black widows out of the shed), then painted the entire shed. My total construction time was about 3 days. I had several redo's due to both my mistakes, and dimensions that don't work as described in the plans.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little shed A great little shed, well built, looks nice. My only issue was a broken piece in transit which caused a delay in finishing. I called the number in the booklet and within a week I received a replacement. There are many parts but this goes together pretty easily in an 8hr period, make sure you have a good drill!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Garden Shed <3 Overall: Great, sturdy Product, I am totally happy! Fast S&H & nothing was damaged. Assembly: You do need someone who is "handyman-ish". Although the step by step instructions are very helpful, it's somewhat vague on aligning the seams on the base. It does requires drilling, hammering, sealant & a helper. Advice: Make sure you use ALL the trim & sealant as instructed. Don't be tempted to skip! This will ensure no leaks when it rains & reinforces the overall structure. Issues: There is enough lead-way to adjust the front doors with the flange if it's not exact. But follow the instructions & pictures to align sides/roof. The interior shelves were about 1/4" too short & would fall through. We had to use another piece of wood for additional support. Total assembly time: 3 hrs

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't be intimidated . . . When the two flat-pack arrived, I was somewhat intimidated. Before assembly, I went and also bought a 8amp Milwaukee torque screwdriver and cordless power drill. I am good at directions, but wasn't sure about fitting all the pieces together. The instructions said 4-6 hours. I was careful and precise, and had the entire shed built in barely 3 hours. It looks great, and even though it's just a simple-looking garden shed, it has gotten many compliments. It is far better looking than a plastic shed, and since it is in a visible spot near my garden, attractiveness was important. I'm very pleased with the look, the finish, and the convenience of the shed. And I'm just a bit smug in telling others that I "built it myself." A perfect quality product for display and storage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Utility Shed I have purchased these types of sheds before and they are always the same. Decent quality and a pretty good project for two people to do in a few hours. The product was shipped directly from the manufacturer in 2 big boxes. Definitely need a little muscle to lift and place panels. They really should make the roof better - it's the only piece that I did not like. I purchased some melamine shelving and put that on the inside instead of the tiny shelves they include. All in all a good value.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lovely but warped In fairness let me say that I love the finished product. It looks great and is exactly what I wanted. Good storage with flexible shelving, not to large and natural material, With that said, it would not look so good without the skills of the person that put it together with me. Some of the critical wood parts, like the header over the door was warped as was the right door itself. It took two full days and fair amount of carpentry skill to put together and have it look good and work properly. This is the second storage shed purchased from Home Depot that had warped parts. It will be the last. There were other problems like some of the trim pieces did not line up correctly but that might have been a result of the warped wood. For the amount of money this shed cost, it should have been much higher quality. Not for a beginner to put together.
