Customer Questions & Answers

Foam? or Plastic?

Says foam on the header, but then says Plastic on the material's specs. So which is it? And can I use the screws in the valleys on the panels? or should I only use them on the peaks? I'm using used panels and don't want to put new holes in them is I don't have to. Also, do I need to use anything, other than the screws on the top of the panels, I read somewhere that these are ONLY use between the panels and the rafters.
Asked by: Wendy
You can use whichever you prefer, however, we recommend using the plastic closures because they are more durable. All fastener holes should be predrilled and the fasteners placed into the peaks of the panels, not the valleys. So these will keep snakes from crawling in from the roof of my chicken coop?

Asked by: Bren
Good Morning, The horizontal foam closure strips are designed to support the panels and fasteners when installing the sheets. Because the fastener goes into the peak of the panel, the closure strips acts as a support when screwing in the fastener. We cannot guarantee they will keep snakes or other creatures from gaining access to your chicken coop.

measurement of closure

Depth of valley, and width of closure, distance between top of rib to top of rib
Asked by: heh
Good Afternoon, The measurements of the closure strip are as follows: 3/4"H x 7/8"W x 36"L These would be 3" on center (center of one rib to the center of the next). Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Customer Reviews

36 in. White Horizontal Foam Closure Strips (5-Pack) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The right stuff. Sneaky qty. These are perfect for setting up your corrugated roof panels. They attach together great and make lining up the roofing panels easy work. I used screws to attach my panels to the roof trusses. I was able to screw right through these with ease. No twisting up around my wood screws! Plus I didn't even have to predrilled like you do with the wood ones. I needed about 6 pieces for my chicken coop. I didn't count first hand exactly what I needed and that's my fault. But who packages things in qty. Of 5?! These guys. Well they got me to buy 2 packages and I guess that's what works for them, and for me. They were inexpensive and did the job so I have no worries about it. It just made me chuckle. I hope the guy who's idea that was got a raise!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Foam strips and corrugated roof Inexpensive, well made foam strips for providing easy insect-proofing at the gaps under a corrugated roof. Simple to install with no tools. Just use fingertips to push the foam into the gaps. No glue required. Works well for vinyl roof.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a MANDATORY Item for Palruf Roof Panel Waterproof Install! I made a mistake by first installing the roof panels without the Foam Closure Strips. Due to leak after leak, I took up the roof panels and reinstalled with the foam end closure strips and what a difference!! Learn from my mistakes and get these first! You'll be glad you did. Use Silicone to glue closures to panels for a water tight fit! *** ALSO Consider getting the Palruf Horizontal Plastic Closures too! These seal water on the length of the panels. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did the job There are no instructions on how to install these, just drawn pictures. They are easy enough to figure out. We at first tried tacking the strips in place before putting the roofing on top but I suggest, if you can reach, to put the strips down as you put the roofing down, to make sure all the peaks and valleys match up perfectly.
