Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DJ Warning! Do not use a steam mop.
We purchased this for 3 rooms and had it installed by the Home Depot contractor. We were told we would receive care instructions from the contractor but were only given info on vinyl flooring. I printed off the Care and Maintenance info from this site but it doesn't say not to use a steam mop with a laminate setting. After cleaning the new floor several times it looks dull and smeared. I used only the light steam and a spray bottle with water/vinegar as recommended. I then checked the actual Pergo website and there is a warning not to use steam mops on their floors! You would expect that to be on the Home Depot product page, or even on the box of laminate. So now waiting to hear from Home Depot what I can do to remedy this (if anything) or if my new floor is ruined. Not happy with the lack of information from the associate, the installer, or the HD website.

This product was very easy to install. It just took a day to install in living room, dinning room and hallway. It looks good and feels good when walking barefoot. Friends and family said they are interested in this product.

Great product! Relatively easy to install. I used a table table with a trim blade to rip long pieces, a chop saw (trim blade) for quick cuts, and a jigsaw (laminate blade) for custom cuts. I used a long steel yard stick for quick measurement of end pieces. I bought the larger metal tap bar and larger tap block at HD. That and a decent size rubber mallet made installation a breeze. I bought my transition pieces elsewhere because it wasn't readily available at HD. I plan on tackling my stairs with this product too. I have four dogs and this stuff is one of the best laminates that resists scratching. Beautiful floor! I ordered this product by the pallet for a discount. Every box was perfect, no damaged pieces. I recommend googling some how to videos for tips. The instructions are not the best, but assembling the pieces are pretty easy. Also, there are seven different "types" of planks. It is easiest if you separate the different types in individual stacks. That way, you won't replicate planks next to each other. It gives a much better varied mix when rotating through the different designs.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DYIDave Great Product; Frustrating Purchase Experience
Let me start by saying we're extremely happy with the way our floors turned out. The look, quality, and durability of the Pergo XP product is exceptional. I would absolutely purchase this product again. However, dealing with Home Depot and the installer was one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. Long story short, we intended to have HD install the floors,. However, after two months (yes, 8 full weeks after the product was delivered to my home) of scheduling errors, lack of returned calls, being bounced from one person to another, and disagreements among the installers, HD store employees, and the HD person who came to take our measurements, I cancelled the installation and turned it into a DYI project. The biggest point of contention was where the installers wanted to place transitions. Essentially they wanted to break our area up into tidy little quadrants, rather than let the product flow from our kitchen, through our dining room, and into our living room. Very frustrating, but again, the product is wonderful and in the end, it turned out great after installing it myself.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Katie Beautiful but install yourself
We planned for Home Depot to do the install but the installers arrived, stated my floors in one area were to unlevel using a board and poker chips and refused to install. At no time through setting up, measuring, ordering product or setting up installation did anyone say this might happen. I ended up installing myself. I have to say dispite the install issue these floors are beautiful. If you watch the pergo video it does a great job of instructing how to put the boards together. I had only 3 damaged boards so packed and shipped well. I love that the dogs don't scratch it and clean up of accidents is a breeze. Would intall pergo again but not use Home Depot to install.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Scott Installed April 2015- Happy so far - looks great
My wife and I installed 350 SF of the Pergo XP Cross Saw Mill laminate over a basement concrete floor. It goes together really easily. We've done two other laminate floors in the past and this one seemed to be the easiest to install. It looks really great.
Having the pad already attached is convenient, although the pad could have been thicker. We put some leveler down on the floor which definitely helped, but was a lot of work. I noticed one or two spots in the floor after it was installed which feel a little squishier when I step on it, which is probably due to it not being perfectly level. So if you do install this over concrete be sure to take extra care in leveling the floor before installing.
Also be sure to put down a vapor barrier over concrete. We used cheap plastic 6 mil stuff that came in rolls about $13 each. Don't spend too much on this stuff, it's essentially contractor bag material in a roll.
Cutting and measuring isn't fun, but being our 3rd floor this was definitely our best work. We laid it in a pattern that came out great. We basically laid a full board in the first row, 3/4 of a board to start the 2nd row and 1/4 of a board to start the 3rd row. In the past we didn't pay as much attention to the lay pattern. You probably end up wasting a bit more, but it's worth it knowing the floor should last you 10+ years.
Overall happy with the look and the how the install went. Would definitely recommend.
