The machine is a specialist to cut the smallest pieces, whenever working with a regular circular saw is impossible and too dangerous. The high-performance 110 - 120-Volt motor is very quiet and has a prolonged life expectancy. Cutting depths: in wood up to 5/16 in. (8 mm), in plastic (also circuit boards) up to approx. 1/8 in. (3 mm), in non-ferrous metals up to 1/16 in. (1.5 mm). Even fiberglass reinforced plastics can be cut with the carbide tipped saw blade (available as accessory). The machined and perfectly plane aluminum worktable in size 6 1/4 in. x 6 1/4 in. (160 x 160 mm) allows for sliding the work piece easily. The housing is made of sturdy plastic (ABS) with a side door to conveniently remove saw dust. With the included Super Cut Saw Blade 2 9/32 in. (58 mm) it is possible to cut soft wood up to 5/16 in. (8 mm). Other saw blades, available as accessories in our program, with 2 in. (50 mm), still ensure up to 15/64 in. (6 mm) cutting depth. Overall size approx. 10 1/4 in. x 7 5/8 in. x 3 11/64 in. (265 x 195 x 85 mm). Weight approx. 4 lb. (1.8 kg).

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by works well as a saw This saw has one huge problem, the blade guard. You can't see the cut cuz the blade guard is in the way, blocking all views without lifting it by hand. It keeps this saw from being a 5 star saw. cuts beautifully. I'm going to cut a hole in the top of the blade guard so I can see what I'm cutting. Definitely a case of safety totally screwing up functionality. October 29, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best possible solution for the indoor cutting of small plywood and balsa model parts. I was looking for an alternative to hand tools for cutting out 1/4" plywood fins indoors for mid-power model rockets, and this German-engineered, well-crafted, small, and clean miniature table saw is just about perfect. By using its vacuum cleaner connection in the back, the saw virtually eliminates creating airborne dust that otherwise would settle all over the house. It is relatively quiet and provides enough power to perform the task of precisely cutting out trapezoidal fins from sheets of hard, 5-ply 1/4" birch plywood in seconds, cuts that could take 10 minutes to do by hand. It can't do curves, of course--you'd need a scroll saw for that--but for clean, sharply cut-out rectangles, deltas, or square fins and pieces, the Proxxon KS 115 can't be beat. May 21, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent, quality MICRO (tiny) saw This micro-saw is indeed MICRO. It is small and light and very manageable. I was surprised when I received it that it was so small (almost like a large book). It is made of metal and very sturdy and well-built, though. It is exceedingly accurate. However, I have worries that it may not be able to do any but my tiniest jobs. (I am a miniature artist and work in 1/12th scale). I should probably have held out for the larger and more expensive Proxxon FET Table Saw. Overall, this manufacturer is superb. The quality and precision of their tools is amazing. I yearn for an entire stable of all the Proxxon tools. I will invest in the FET as soon as I can afford the ~$390. But well worth the investment. January 20, 2015
