Customer Questions & Answers

Does it come with wheels?

Very heavy to carry. The box was already picked up by trash collector, so I can't double check the packaging.i love it but I'd love it more if it could roll!
Asked by: Momma
yes the vacuum has wheels with it, but if you opt not to use the wheels the vacuum has a flat bottom that makes for a stable base.

Tool storage

How/Where are the tools/attachments stored?
Asked by: Michael
The tools are attached around the top of the vacuum by sliding them into place.

Is this supposed to come with some kind of diffuser at the outlet?

This vacuum made a mess of things when I tried to vacuum some ash. The exhaust blows out air at over 150+MPH, yet there is nothing to dampen the exhaust causing everything in my house to go flying everywhere (including ash). It ended up being more of a clean-up job than I had thought.
Asked by: Anonymous
There is a separate exhaust attachment that can be purchased to use with the shop vacs. It's supposed to reduce the wind noise some. I have one on my vac. I can't say that it makes a big difference in noise level, since the motor running makes the most noice, not the air discharge... -BC

14 gal. 6.0-Peak HP Wet Dry Vac is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 1059.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Vacuum, Rigid has TERRIBLE customer service I love this vacuum. I have it connected in line with my dust deputy. Plenty of suction and it works great. I had some questions and wanted to register the thing. RIGID was absolutely no help at all. I hope the thing lasts. If you need help with the thing rest assured you are on your own. Customer assistance/help is terrible.

Works very well and is much quieter than I would have expected. One thing that baffles me, though - the box and the motor body both say "6.0 PEAK HP", which I'm trying to understand because it's physically impossible to get 6 HP out of a standard 15A, 120V wall outlet (my previous shop vac was rated at 2 HP - the same as many other 120V power tools). Assuming you ran it on a 20A capable 120V outlet with perfect motor efficiency you could theoretically generate 2400W, which equates to about 3.2 HP. Maybe the motor can be rewired to run on 240V, which for a 20A circuit would be about 6.5 HP. If so, I'd like to try it out and see what it can do (the suction is pretty impressive running on 120V).

Unlike my former Shop Vac, the Ridgid WD14501 was simple to assemble, actually holds the accessories, does not tip over, connects to my power tools without an adapter, does not need an extension cord, has incredible suction power, and is unbelievably quiet for a 6.0 motor. For $99.00, this vacuum is a steal!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Goodbye Shop Vac. Hello Ridgid!!! Long time shop vac brand user here big after ready reviews and comparing at the big box stores I decided to give Ridgid a shot. Glad I did. This vac is quieter, stronger and emits less dust than my last Shop Vac. First job I tasked it with was cleaning up sheet rock mud/tape dust. I was blown away. It emitted so little dust I could of gotten away with not wearing a mask. Needless to say I'm impressed with this vac. The fit and finish and just overall build quality seems a step above the Shop Vac brand as well. I won't be going back.

You can take it back to the store if it's with in 90 days. If it's past 90 days you mail it at your expense to Rigid which depending on its size could be close to the same price as a new one. Worthless warranty!!! Oh and you better register it online with in 30 days of purchase or it voids everything. Again,,,,worthless!!!!

We bought this to clean the floors and walls of a stone basement and couldn't be more pleased. It picks up the stones and bits of concrete with no trouble. A lesser horsepower would have trouble picking up some of the debris that this one got. We haven't had to use it as a wet-vac yet. All in all, we're glad we purchased this vacuum.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Shop Vac I am a professional contractor specializing in home remodeling and custom bathroom projects. I mostly use this shop vac to suck up sheet rock dust which can get everywhere. This shop vac sucks up all the dust with no leaks. Great purchase, but if you're not a pro, you may want to go with something a little smaller - this unit is big.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Vacuum Great price This shopvac is wonderful and I purchased it for my daughter. She is hard on vacuums so I bought this model for her. It doesn't have the bells and whistles and isn't cute but it works and she can vacuum the whole house without emptying the canister. Better yet she loves it. I highly recommend this shopvac.
