What are the decibel levels for the WD1450 and the WD1851

Asked by: mkaibel me lame, but a "decible meter" is NOT a piece of equip. that anyone I know (including myself) would tend to I can't answer this question. IF the owners manuel lists the decible level, I'm not about to go fish for that info. Sorry. That's an unusual question to ask a custormer. Decible level? Really?

can i wet vac with paper filter

Asked by: jerryrusty
It is not recommended. Depending on your use you can remove the pleated paper filter or purchase a sponge type filter that will replace the pleated paper filter.

Does it come with wheels?

Very heavy to carry. The box was already picked up by trash collector, so I can't double check the packaging.i love it but I'd love it more if it could roll!
Asked by: Momma
it is time that all shopvacs discontinue using small wheels. The vacs will not roll over even smallcracks without trying to tip over. Put larger wheels at least in the rear of the vac to help it roll much easier. You would also be able to tip the vac on the rear wheels and roll it from place to place.

Unlike my former Shop Vac, the Ridgid WD14501 was simple to assemble, actually holds the accessories, does not tip over, connects to my power tools without an adapter, does not need an extension cord, has incredible suction power, and is unbelievably quiet for a 6.0 motor. For $99.00, this vacuum is a steal!

I purchased this with the need to extract water from a leaking hot water heater that had soaked a good size area of carpet. This vac did not disappoint and I don't use this word very often but it is an AWESOME wet/dry vac!!! It did an outstanding job of sucking water out of a berber carpet (which is a very tightly woven type of carpet). The vac itself is well made, proper size hose, extension and tools. Everything "fit" very good and it seems to be a very solid piece of equipment. It's relatively quiet for such a beast and has incredible sucking capability. I think I can understand why it has a full lifetime warranty - they don't expect it to ever give out and I can see why. Between this and the Honda lawn mower I purchased last year, they're my best pieces of equipment ever!

I bought it to use for projects around the house. The filter system is inadequate for drywall dust. It picks it up nicely but then blows it out through the exhaust, spreading it far and wide (something I was trying to avoid). I contacted the maker who advised that I clean my filter and check it for damage. Despite it being new I checked it out ... all OK ... it just doesn't work to pick up and then contain drywall dust. That's a pretty basic function to fail on. It would be fine for a construction site but I don't recommend it for home use. I went back to my old Shop Vac.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wet dry vac Using it to vacuum while removing popcorn ceiling and sanding after replastering, has a 3 stage filter that it came with, and I bought extra paper internal filters, a muffler attachment, scraper-vacuum attachments, sander-vacuum attachments. It keeps the place alot cleaner and keeps most of the plaster dust in the vacuum, as long as you change vac bags when about 2/3 full. It is a must for a messy dusty job such as this. I would buy it again.

Never in any other that information did anyone mention that the lids to the machine are designed to fit loose. I contacted Ridgid about what was going on. They told me quote "The fit has to be a little loose so that all lids will fit on the drum given the tolerance variations possible". Seems they are the only ones doing this. I checked all the other machines made by the competitors and none was loose. They also told me to NOT pick the machine up by the handle if there is anything in the drum. Could break the latches.. Again something I never did with any other machines. With the loose fit and if the machine tipped over there would be some of that inside trash getting in the seal area. I got a small 4 gallon husky that is just as strong as this but at 1/4 cost and the lid fits tight..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the money! This shop vac is great! The filter is high quality, the attachments work well, it is durable, and does the job right. I cleaned up a whole house of drywall dust with no issue. The only negatives are that it is loud, and the extension pipes have a tendency to fall off during long periods of use. But despite that, I would 100% byluy this product again and I am very pleased with the Ridgid quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sucks! As I this thing works almost too well!!! I bought this shop vac for a remodel project and had to make sure it wasn't sucking the tape and paper off the floors and walls that I had laid down for paint protection. Light enough to carry downstairs to up spills and dust. I would like to see the accessory caddy improved so you do not need to take it apart to move it to the next room.
