This vac performs very well, and is also very thoughtfully designed compared to other vacs I have had--the clamps keep the lid/motor housing on the bottom, the hose doesn't pull off the vac, the tool accessory rack holds everything firmly in place and includes holes to contain the hose so it doesn't flop around when you are carrying the vac around. My only request would be a redesigned cord wrap--the existing tabs on the carry handle should be bigger to keep the cord from riding up over them, and there should be two additional tabs on the housing above the tool rack so the cord could wrap in a bigger circle, making it faster to wrap the cord.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Britincanadia Best tool bought for my reno!
This vac is awesome - my wife even said it's one of the most useful purchases we've made recently!
Well worth spending the money on the more powerful unit which creates excellent suction. The 2 1/2" hose makes clean up easy and the on board tool storage is handy.
I also highly recommend getting the muffler. Not so much for sound deadening (it's a pretty quiet unit anyway) but more so for deflecting the exhaust air, preventing dust and debris getting blown away before you vac it up.
Only downside is a result of the vacs effectiveness - the filter needs to be cleaned regularly as it quickly gets clogged.
Overall, this is an essential tool to have.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rockman708 Best Wet / Dry Vacuum I Have Owned
Easy to assemble and easy to use right out of the box. I have owned my vac for almost 2 years now. It still operates like it did the first day I purchased it.. Very strong and fairly quite, as far as these shop -vacs go. Filters work great. I have run mine for several hundred hours sucking everything up from saw dust, drywall dust, 3-1/2 inch screws and nails, large wood chunks, to ultra fine dust.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Befree66 A great home remodel clean up tool.
We were shopping for a wet dry vac for cleaning up after removing popcorn from our ceilings. We decided on the RIDGID 14 Gallon and couldn't be happier. This is a powerful machine and the filter system kept dust to a minimum. The hose is stiff like all brands so we bought the detail kit which has a softer hose. The detail kit has come in handy. It comes in handy for reaching all the hard to reach places when sweeping my auto and boat.
We haven't used the wet option yet but if it preforms like the dry vac we couldn't be happier.
The RIGDID 14 gal is great value for such a low cost.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by zimsmg Great product at a great price
The roofers destroyed my attic and my dustbuster was not going to cut it. I shopped around and the 14 gallon wet/dry vac was the perfect tool. Light enough to carry to my attic and powerful enough to completely eliminate the mess left by the roofers including pieces of shingle and roofing nails, along with wood splinters and sawdust. This was my first wet/dry vac ever purchased and I was completely impressed with the quality of this product. It more than did the job, and this product was priced more than fairly for the quality I received. I would highly recommend this product.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by rcompart This wet/dry vac really sucks... And that's a good thing!
I am very happy with how this wet/dry vac performs. It has great suction yet it is not nearly as loud as my previous wet/dry vac. I've used with with drywall, sawdust, mud and even scraps of steam-removed wallpaper and it didn't even flinch! The wheels get it over variations in flooring with ease and the cord is long enough that it doesn't require it's own dedicated extension cord. Only thing I wish was different was how the cord wraps up but it isn't too bad once you do it a couple time and the cord gets a "memory".
Overall I am very please with my purchase.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by jlbowen01 This vacuum really sucks
Can not do a project with out this vacuum and the smaller one. Currently doing a remodel and installing new laminate flooring.
Have the Rigid Shop Vacuum connected to my compound miter saw. Power the vacuum with a switch which turns on the Rigid shop vacuum when operating the saw. With the addition of the internal collection bag, blue filter and noise filter very little escapes. After sawing connect the 12 inch brush attachment and sweep up the rest.
Sold my older Rigid vacuum since I could not install an internal filter bag. Glad I made the step up..

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TangledupnBIGBLUE Excellent vac - worth the money
I've only had mine for a couple of months but have been impressed w/ it's performance. We are remodeling my late father's house & the vac has been indispensable, I've used it for general cleaning, picking up sawdust (needs a better filter to pickup dry wall dust -$30 @ HD - ouch!). Much quieter than the old Sears shop vac it replaced. I am trying to convince my wife to use it in the house to replace the Sears canister vac she currently uses. The Rigid is lighter, has more power & noise levels are similar. The auto detail kit is very handy & a bonus to look for when shopping for a vac. Durability is yet to be seen but I expect it to be a beast for a long time.
