Very pleased with this choice, bought primarily for my router table. I looked at Porter Cable, Triton, Bosch, et.al., and compared reviews to my value. Great packaging, all parts present, and easy assembly. First job was to flush trim 1-1/2" mahogany to a 3/4" template. Consistent speed and power made the job safe and accurate. Would definitely recommend!

I have owned this router for about 4 years now and I use it fairly often, and I'm very happy with the product. It lives up to the Ridge name, providing you the best combination of quality and price you will find. I haven't had any part break or fail in all this time. You can run any type of bit through this, small all the way up to chair rail. I've made so many things over the years. General features I like are the clear base plate and the light, which allow you to easily see what you're working on. Its also easy to remove if you want to attach the router to a router table, which I often use. The adjustable speed is ideal for using different types of bits. The height adjustment is easy to use, I particularly like the ability to reset the height/depth gauge back to 0, this allows you to always keep track of even the smallest adjustments no mater where your starting position is. The collet is easily removed, so if you need to use a smaller router bit you can quickly make that change. The motor holds its place quite well, the spring latch is very sturdy. The handles are in an ideal location, allowing for greater overall control. It also doesn't weigh too much. The only thing I would like to see changed is the location of the on/off switch.

Love it! Helped us achieve the impossible. I was building a live edge table with steel legs and the table had warped some on the ends, so we were able to construct a sled to router out the places for the leg to even out the warp. Turned out amazing. If you need to do some damage to a piece of wood, this will do it. I plan on leveling some live edge slabs soon with it.

This router has been great in my framing job. Cutting out windows and doors is a breeze! No problems nor issues with this router. The grips provide perfect handling, and the speed dial is helpful depending on the application.

The router meet my expectations and then some. It cuts thru the hardest woods without leaving burn marks. I liked it so well, that I now own two of them. One for the tongue bit and one for the groove bit. I also use them for my dove tail jig. One has the tail bit and the other has the pin bit. I have two routers to cut down on the change over time from one bit to the other. The handles on the base fit firmly in my hands which gives me better control when routing fine cuts and curves. The built in light is an added plus. The micro depth adjustments makes this router stand above the rest.

We use plunge routers in a sled style planer, in order to plane large slabs of wood. I've burned up numerous other brand routers. I like the rigid, due in large part to the lifetime warranty. This router has chewed through everything I've fed it.

Perfectly fine router when it was new, but unfortunately it has a fatal flaw. The router body corrodes badly because it is aluminum and the base is magnesium, see picture. After less than a year the height adjustment screw barely turns.
