Customer Questions & Answers

Do you think this would hold up well to traveling on a commercial airliner?

Just curious if you think this would hold up to the abuse baggage handlers give to bags on a commercial airline. I would like this to replace my Pelican branded cases.
Asked by: StoneyBaloney
Everything but the wheels. As several reported they break. Packed three pieces in separate boxes and shipped it FedEx. I had padding underneath. One wheels was broken when it arrived. It was fairly lightly loaded weighing only 40 pounds total with box.

Does the home Depot still sell the three piece set

Asked by: Nathan
Home Depot does still offer the three piece set for $100 but only as a special. They had it on again for Black Friday. I missed the June sale and have been waiting since then. I checked every week on-line. Don't forget that the open crate / basket is also available for $20. I plan to put it on top of my three piece set when I wheel it out to work on a tractor. Equally rugged and attaches on tight just like the other pieces.

Where can I buy the 3 piece ridgid tool box

My store in Lynchburg does not have it. I can not find it on homedepot.com. would go to Charlottesville, Roanoke or Richmond to see/get one.
Asked by: JBN
I would check Home Depot online again I always see them all for sale on here. I surprises me that your store would not carry them, every Home Depot in my area carries all of the Ridgid Modular Boxes. If your lucky you can catch them on sale 3 for $100, I paid regular price which was $130 for the 3 but worth every penny. These boxes will hold an astounding amount of tools, check out my video below and you will be amazed at how much these boxes will hold!

How well does the set go up and down a flight of stairs?

Do you have to take it apart to go up and down several steps? Can you control the unit with one arm or will it take both arms to control the unit when maneuvering steps? I am a therapist going between multiple school buildings and I am looking for a good solution for transporting and locking my supplies and materials between sites. Stairs are involved on a daily basis.
Asked by: jam
Hi Jam, No you don't have to take it apart, it is made in one piece. If you stack the boxes they clip together. As far as going up stairs you can do it with one hand. Remember it depends how much weight you put in the box because even though it goes up stairs rather well you still have to pull up to the next step. They are very well made and have a good latch system for your locks. Hope this helps Steven

22 in. Pro Gear Cart, Black is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 201.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice. Could be better I like the strength of this unit. Very durable. Two complaints. First, the telescoping handle is too short. If you are 5'4" it will probably be fine but I am 6' and my heels keep knocking into the box as I am pulling it. So therefore I am forced to twist my body as I walk and that's very uncomfortable. Or, I am forced to push the cart in front of me and that's just weird. In my industry I am forced to walk 10 to 15 miles a day and pulling this car isn't the most efficient. In addition, I wouldn't really consider the wheels to be "all terrain" Made of hard plastic, although durable, it would be nice if there was a layer of hard rubber to soften the clanks and grinding the wheels make over the various surfaces...especially concrete and tile floors.

I stand on it, drag it around with my tools in it.. One time I need to move a bit of dirt and emptied my tools out and loaded like a wheel barrow. Just purchased my 3rd one not because they broke, one for paint, one for saws, and one for mudding. my first one is still kicking had it for about 18 months.. If this thing brakes you broke it. FYI I'm a pro

I have had it for two weeks now, its deep enough for saws and most power tools, easy to haul around on the wheels and the lift handle works great, if it rains just put the sealed cover on top and tools are protected!! No more carrying around a heavy tool bag, I will purchase the other two units to top it off.. LOVE IT!! Steven

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 22 IN. PRO GEAR CART, BLACK Looks good so far, but not enough time between purchase and review request to give it a workout. Was between this and DeWalt system. Went with the Ridgid system due to better price point. Bought all 4 pieces, they all fit together but the most you can put together without exceeding the extended handle is 3. I do projects for my kids at their homes and got tired of rounding up everything, packing and unpacking, etc. This system breaks down so I can lift individual pieces in rig, load, unload. Have some lower back problems and this is easier than the one piece fold out models. Am excited to run this through the paces to see how it holds up. At this point I think it will do well, but time will tell. Also very comfortable with Home Depot, have always been treated well there, and in my experience they stand by what they sell and have been good to work with. I am an avid DIY for home and projects in multiple areas, and they are my first go to source.

The 22inch Pro Gear Cart is a sturdy product I use on the job site every day since I've had it. I stack two other stackable tool boxes on it and move it around the site without any problem at all. Even in the sub-freezing weather these things take a beating and never once had a problem. Well worth the price. Thank you.

I purchased this item to store my sewing supplies, when I go the to quilting retreats and classes. I especially like the fact, I can lock it and feel comfortable my supplies will not fly away. I also purchased the other 2 sizes to stack and carrying everything I could possibly need.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Handle and wheels are no good Handle needs to be longer by atleast a foot. I'm 5'9" and it is to short for me. Anyone taller would have a serious issue. And the wheels are wicked CHEAP!! However I gave it two stars because it is deep. The top comes off easily and also can have attachments. Which is pretty nice. I wouldn't recommend this product tho. The wheels are definitely gonna break soon n I can't see anyone taller then me being able to use it. As is, I struggle with it. I most likely am going to return it.
