HYPERDRIVE 18-Volt 18-Gauge 2-1/8 in. Brushless Brad Nailer is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 89.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring a nail set with you This is my second unit I've purchased as I figured I had a faulty nailer, so exchanged it for another. Now, with two 18 gauge Ridgid nailers, I can say, their trash! I went out and spent more money for the 16 gauge Dewalt angled nailer. That thing is a beast and well worth the extra money! On the other hand, this Ridgid, will not set nails for the life of it. I am so sick of it and can't return the second unit anymore so I've lost my money on it. Keep in mind, I own a ton of Ridgid tools and am in the construction field, I am ready to give up on Ridgid and their scamming warranty. They don't honor anything, it is a marketing tactic, I've read reviews stating they have caught Ridgid change their purchase date even though they've entered it correctly on the warranty page, just so when you make a claim, there will be a descrepency and a way to not approve your claim.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hit or miss After a couple months with this nailer I am pretty disappointed with the performance. It often doesn't fully drive the nail. It's kind of annoying as a pro carpenter having to stop every 10 nails or so and get the nail set out. The tool is a little heavy but you get used to it. It doesn't operate very well if it's cold so you have to bring it in the house to warm up before use. When you're on the job site, you don't want to wait for a tool to be ready. The weight and size make it awkward at times to operate. I thought this would ease the inconvenience of a compressor and cord but it just creates other annoyances. I don't think I'm going to use this on a daily bases and will probably return it. All my other cordless tools are Ridgid and I have been very happy with them. This is the first I've decided to return.

I have only used this on a couple small trim jobs, so still getting used to it. Takes some getting used to the slight delay between pulling the trigger and the shot. Nose protector leaves dents on the wood surface (softwood), but maybe I just need to reduce how hard I push. Even though it seems more bulky than an air nailer, the lack of hose is really a joy and the unit has good balance. I like the LED light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more compressors!! This product is well thought out and for me a serious keeper. I read the reviews prior to purchasing, in particular the negatives regarding short battery life. The first time I used it (trim nailing) it seemed those negatives were well founded until I realized that the nailer stops when there is 5 or so brads left to save on dry firing which for me is a great feature to save on material damage on one hand and like most nailers trying to find out where you left off. I can confirm that this unit will provide at least 700 brads on a fully charged 3ah battery charge. The gun's weight for me while a bit heavy is acceptable given that it allows for rapid fire although make sure you are pressing the gun against the wood service as some nails will stay proud even with the depth setting adjustments although this happens even with my pneumatics. All in all I am very impressed with the engineering genius of this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's awesome I was a little afraid to spend the money on it after some of the reviews I read but I did it anyway, I do not regret this purchase at all! I have never had a single problem with it, it doesn't see really heavy use but it's gets used plenty, already put almost 1,000 2" nails through it and no issues, don't hesitate to buy one if you're on the fence!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is one of the best investments I have ever... This is one of the best investments I have ever made! It is replacing a gas powered gun. The short lag between pulling the trigger and a nail coming out is insignificant to me, considering I don't have to buy fuel cells and I can use batteries I already have.
