HYPERDRIVE 18-Volt 18-Gauge 2-1/8 in. Brushless Brad Nailer is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 85.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring a nail set with you This is my second unit I've purchased as I figured I had a faulty nailer, so exchanged it for another. Now, with two 18 gauge Ridgid nailers, I can say, their trash! I went out and spent more money for the 16 gauge Dewalt angled nailer. That thing is a beast and well worth the extra money! On the other hand, this Ridgid, will not set nails for the life of it. I am so sick of it and can't return the second unit anymore so I've lost my money on it. Keep in mind, I own a ton of Ridgid tools and am in the construction field, I am ready to give up on Ridgid and their scamming warranty. They don't honor anything, it is a marketing tactic, I've read reviews stating they have caught Ridgid change their purchase date even though they've entered it correctly on the warranty page, just so when you make a claim, there will be a descrepency and a way to not approve your claim.

I have been using air pressure nailers for years and you pull the trigger and the it fires instantly. This nailer has a power up lag time before it shots the brad. Guess I will get used to it. Also wish they had put some kind of storage compartment in the toot bag for brads. I know carrying brads around in the bottom of the bag is going to ruin a lot of brad clips. Designers.. if you are reading this, next product release, add some kind of storage pocket for brad clips.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hit or miss After a couple months with this nailer I am pretty disappointed with the performance. It often doesn't fully drive the nail. It's kind of annoying as a pro carpenter having to stop every 10 nails or so and get the nail set out. The tool is a little heavy but you get used to it. It doesn't operate very well if it's cold so you have to bring it in the house to warm up before use. When you're on the job site, you don't want to wait for a tool to be ready. The weight and size make it awkward at times to operate. I thought this would ease the inconvenience of a compressor and cord but it just creates other annoyances. I don't think I'm going to use this on a daily bases and will probably return it. All my other cordless tools are Ridgid and I have been very happy with them. This is the first I've decided to return.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Improved?? I had the older model from Ridgid. It was a lighter and more compact then the new model. I purchased the new model because the old one started to not drive the brads any farther than I/2 way even in pine. The old unit worked good for 3-4 yrs. Being a finish carpenter I used it a lot. The new one is way to heavy and does not set the brads flush. I have made ALL the adjustment setting for the new nailer. I would have sent the old one into Ridigd for service but we all know how that "lifetime" service deal is. Not good.

I have read some of the reviews , good and bad , so with more of the reviews being high I went to the local Home Depot to buy it , got it out of the box put a battery in and tried it was I happy it was what 5 star reviews were saying so far so good. I was finishing up a project and went to put the trim on with the brad nailer IT FAILED would not fire the nail into a 2X4 checked all the adjustments still not putting into any type of wood , the nail would only go in about 1/4 of an inch . The other issue I have is it jams after 2 or 3 nail fires , will be getting a Ryobi nail gun . This is the first RIDGID tool that I am not happy with ,I have many tools and there batteries , because I travel to different states and towns to repair Ambulances , Fire trucks and Rescue trucks .

I have only used this on a couple small trim jobs, so still getting used to it. Takes some getting used to the slight delay between pulling the trigger and the shot. Nose protector leaves dents on the wood surface (softwood), but maybe I just need to reduce how hard I push. Even though it seems more bulky than an air nailer, the lack of hose is really a joy and the unit has good balance. I like the LED light.
