PowerSpin is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 132.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from breaks when you use all 25' Just like other reviews, small plastic part that holds the end inside the reel breaks when you get to the end with no warning. You are just unreeling it and suddenly you hear the plastic part rolling around inside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great, but pay attention After destroying two other augers like this, this one was definitely best. It is priced highest, too, but I am OK with that after mission accomplished. But, it is a 1/4" auger, and yes it will kink if you let it twist. It will not beat a $300 pro snake setup. If you are not cautious about feeding the coil, it will twist just as well as any 1/4" auger. The main difference is the feed mechanism, that makes it worth the price. Other augers, you have to pause, pull out more coil, then lock somehow and keep going. This one uses a clever constant feed setup that works very well. Got the hair clog out, got back in good graces with the wife, two thumbs up.

Hook it up to your electric drill and you're good to go. The only thing you need is a good trigger finger for the drill to vary the speed, not hard to do.

The first time, probably being a little to aggressive with the drill, the plastic frame cracked where the drill connects and it was rendered useless. The second purchase also broke, but I was able to use it 4 or 5 times successfully before it broke. After my first experience, I'm very careful with the drill only operating it at very slow speeds. Unfortunately, like many others have described, the inner cable is secured by a single screw and a fragile piece of plastic which will eventually break. The cable would no longer retract and I had to pull it out by hand. I'm giving this a three star review because it did successfully clear up multiple clogs before it broke, but I think the product would be vastly better if the (a) the cable was secured betting to the house and (b) the last couple of feet of cable were painted a different color, or there was some indication that you were coming to the end of the line (literally and figuaritively)

I just had to write another review on this product, the first time I used it was a simple problem that I was able to fix in my basement by going through a cleanout in the pipes but made a terrible mess as I had to drain ther pipes first . today I had the same issue I went to YOU TUBE and saw how to unclog a drain using drain valve in my bath tub I did as what was shown using my drill to run the snake and in about 10 minutes it was unclogged!!!! so instead of a huge MESSY mess to clean up all I had to do was flush the drain and replace the plate on the tub ! GREAT TOOL WOULD BUY AGAIN !!!!

The powerspin does not let you lock the cable. so if you encounter a clog or bend and want to work at it, you can't because the cable pushes back into drum. if you squeeze trigger, it advances it then ends up twisting. the time tested lock screw assured the cable didn't move so you have more control. cable was stiffer too. for me it didn't like the bends. another reason to go back to my cheapy unit. had it for two weeks. didn't meet my expectations given the price .

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Product But One Major Weakness This product has one major weakness, the cable retainer clip inside the drum. The retainer clip failed releasing the end of the cable on the first use. I removed the remaining broken retainer with a rotary tool, then drilled a hole through the back of the drum for a # 10 bolt. I secured the cable end with a small, rubber lined metal cable clamp bolted to the back of the drum with the aforementioned #10 bolt, washer and nut. This repair removed the one major weakness of the drain cleaner. After this modification the cleaner performed well on many jobs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It got the job done! Using the handle to turn is not really an option, so attaching a power drill to it is a necessity. Worked great and cleared the clog. It was a little difficult to re-wind it as you have to squeeze the handle fairly tightly while it winds back in, but it got the job done.
