The instructions are very hard to understand, even for my husband, a former home remodeling contractor. We ended up making our own accommodations for the trays on the inside of our undersigned cabinet doors (just screws them on) as the hinges would not work with our deep sink. We did not use the hinges supplied.

Altough no doubt easier if the sink was removed first, I had no difficulty installing these trays without removing the sink. The key is marking the hole locations first, then drilling pilot holes and pre-tapping the screws in the panels before attaching the panels to the hinges. Using a short phillips screwdriver helps also. If installed properly, the panels close tight and look neat and trim.

This is a great little kit. It includes everything you need for install except for the tools – hinges, trays, screws and a nice template that makes drilling your pilot holes dummy-proof. It’s also a great value - I priced out the individual pieces (4 hinges and 2 trays) and it was actually cheaper to go with this kit. This makes for an easy DIY project that can be completed in 30 minutes or so with the proper tools. A couple tips: 1. If you’re cabinets have been painted, be aware that the area behind the false drawer fronts may or may not have been painted and the backs of the drawer fronts almost definitely have not, so have some touch up paint on hand unless you want to see the old cabinet color every time you pull the tray down. 2. Some of the angles you’ll be working at get a little awkward because of the tight space, so while you don’t HAVE to have them, a short, ratcheting screwdriver and/or an electric screwdriver will make this task go much more smoothly. 3. Be sure to trace the outline of the back of the drawer front BEFORE you remove it! Overall, an easy install that allows you to reclaim wasted space – great kit!

A little tedious to install, but a definite good use of otherwise wasted space. DJC
