I am trying to save some money buy making a pitching mat to be used inside on a gym floor. Is this tape just non-slip or will it keep a small mat of astro-turf in place for the most part if a 16 year old fastpitch team uses if for pitching practice? And if not do you make a product that would?

Answer:
Double sided sticky tape is probably not allowed on the gym floor, which would probably be best. This sticks on one side (to the turf/rug) and traction/non-slip works when it is stepped on.

Hello Roberts14 and thank you for the question. I wouldn't recommend this tape for that type of activity as you mentioned as I don't think it would keep your mat in place for too long. I also cant recommend any other product of ours that will keep it in place and that is not permanent. You could possible get one of those chair mats made for carpets and glue that to the bottom of the mat. Maybe the spikes Read More

I live in Illinois and we have brutally cold winters. Carpets will be used to absorb snow and water, oil, etc. from cars when they're parked in garage. Will this product be good to secure carpets in place ?

Hello Bob and thanks for the question. The Roberts Rug Traction Anti-Slip Rubber Tape should work for this application. Since this tape is not double sided adhesive, you might get some movement if dirt and debris gets under the rug. I would suggest if this happens to clean both under the underside of the rug where this tape is and on the floor where the rug or mat is placed. If you have any additional Read More

earlier this year , and last year I purchased several rolls of the tape exactly as depicted here. It has dual waxed paper tapes that are removed to expose the adhesive, a solid plastic core that the tape is wound on, and the rubber is blue.
This week (May 2015) I purchased the same product - same SKU at least - but it turned out to be very unsatisfactory:
- the backing is a thin plastic film, which proved almost impossible to remove, especially compared to the previous dual backing, and when removed exposed not very tacky adhesive.
- the rubber was gray, not blue as previously, and when rubbed released a fine powder of rubber.
- the core is cardboard tube ... not that this should matter except as an indicator of an inferior version of the product.

Question: which of these versions is the current one ? The one depicted - blue rubber with the dual backing strips was excellent, or the other , gray rubber with plastic film backing, which is worse than useless and should be removed from the shelves.

Rated 2.4 out of 5 by 39 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by useless in every way First, half of the "sticky" side had no adhesive on the back at all! Only one edge of my roll had an adhesive, sometimes 1/2 the width, at some places only 1/3 of the width, and it was very weak. What did stick to my rug was no help whatsoever in keeping it from sliding around the hardwood floor. Completely useless product. August 23, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad adhesive The tape would not stick to carpet. It seemed it might of been on the shelves to long August 30, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works This is one sided tape. Traction/works when stepped on. August 11, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Was not impressed and would not buy it again. I applied this to 2 small kitchen rugs so they would not slide around. However, this product did not work as well as I expected it to. I had to use several strips (which is fine as long as it works), and leave only an inch or so uncovered. I would have been better off gluing a rubber mat to the bottom of the rug.... at least maybe the rugs wouldn't still slip around the kitchen. April 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by waste of money Did not keep rug in position. Rug moves as before. March 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent product It is a very awesome product. I've been getting into crocheting and made slippers which were slippery so i cut the tape in strips and put on the bottom and it worked great. March 30, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works ok The backing could be more adhesive, does not stick too well, the rubber side is great. March 29, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works ok This product works ok but not great. Maybe I should have purchased a pad instead. March 22, 2016
