Customer Questions & Answers

Can I use it to tape an outdoor rug to a garage floor (concrete) for a home gym?

Asked by: Bud
Thank you for your inquiry. Yes. It bonds instantly to all carpet backings, stair treads and carpet molding. Make sure the concrete is clean and free of any contaminates that will inhibit a strong bond. If you have any further questions, contact technical services at 866-435-8665.

Can I use this with Vinyl sheet on wood floor?

I used Roberts Double-sided Carpet Seam Tape to secure an area rug over ceramic tile flooring. I now want to remove the tape, but it is extremely difficult to get it off the tile flooring. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can remove the tape from the tile flooring?
Asked by: Dave
Thank you for your inquiry. Please try the following removal method: Sprinkle talc powder or baby powder on the tape residue. press the powder into the residue. let it stand for 15 minutes. in a circular motion, begin to agitate in the area with a soft bristle brush. This will break the adhesive and you will be able to simply sweep/vac the "crumbles" away. repeat if necessary. For more information, please contact technical services at 866-435-8665.

Can this tape be used on berber carpet to hold a rug runner in place?

I have a wall to wall berber rug and my rug runner keeps bunching up
Asked by: bdelfavb
Thank you for your inquiry. Our double sided carpet tape is for the permanent installation of carpet where a tack strip is not being used. If this product is used to keep a carpet runner in place over a wall to wall carpet it will be difficult to remove and will damage the wall to wall carpet. We do carry a tape which is removable and re-positional and is safe for all floor surfaces including carpet. The model # is 50-580. If you have any further questions please call our Customer Service (866) 435-8665. Thank you for your interest in our product.

Indoor or Outdoor 15 ft. Double-Sided Carpet Tape Roll is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Difficult to use, difficult to remove the carpet tape and does not hold carpet securely. This is the most difficult carpet tape I have ever used. it is difficult to separate the tape and when separated it does not hold the carpet securely.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Keeps rug in place I used a piece in each corner of my kitchen rug to keep it from sliding around. It works great and hasn't damaged my ceramic tile. I will probably have to get some sticky stuff removal but it's worth it to keep that rug from moving every time someone steps on it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It worked. I have a dog and had to repair some carpet in the living room. So, I cut a piece out of the closet and put the closest match I could find in the new hole in the closet. I've used easier tape before the fix carpet, but this was fine. I gave ease of installation a 3, but to be fair it is difficult to repair a piece of carpet in the first place, so it is all just a little bit complicated.
