Installation hardware included?

According to the description, hardware is included, what exactly is included? What size screws are needed to mount these directly to the studs through real wood paneling? And how many screws are necessary for each 70" upright?
Asked by: themoldypeach
The only item is the strip, you have to buy the mounting screws and brackets separately. I used 1 3/4 inch but I was going through the bracket and drywall to get to the stud. On the 70 in. you would need 7 mounting screws. The placement is approx. 12 inches. 70 in approx. 6ft will need 7 screws. the 47 in, approx. 4ft, needs 5 screws.

If installing them into studs, as recommended, what kind / length of screws should be used?

I purchased the Rubbermaid Twin Track hardware pack, http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rubbermaid-Zinc-Twin-Track-Universal-Hardware-Pack-FG4C7506ZINC/100308343 . which contains the screws for the uprights, #10 zinc plated screws. After getting home, I realized that these screws are only 2" long. It seemed a bit on the short side considering the upright thickness and the 1/2" drywall... it's really not left with a lot of grip going into the studs. So I went back the store and purchased a 50pk of Everbilt #10 x 3inch zinc plated wood screws. After spray painting the heads white, I started installing the uprights. Before I had any weight on the shelves, or shelves for that matter, two of the screws snapped while installing. I even predrilled holes, that didn't help. I'm disappointed that I know have to patch the holes where the screws broke off inside the drywall/stud, and now have to reposition where I had intended to place the uprights. I guess I'll move everything up an inch. Anyhow, I'm glad I found out that the screws broke while installation and not after I had things I valued sitting on the shelves. So now, I'm left wondering.... were the screws just a faulty batch, did I do something wrong?, or should I use some other kind of screws that won't break in this application? I never thought that would be the weak point. I'm guessing I want at least 2 1/2" screw (as recommended by loads of tutorials online, including Home Depot. This Old House featured an article that stated "bore an 1/8" pilot hole and then use 2½-inch long flathead wood screw". I called Home Depot and they told me that wood screws are for wood to wood connection and I should use a shelving screw?? or a drywall screw. Not sure about shelving screws..ha, but it's my understanding that drywall screws aren't meant to hold much more weight than drywalls and would be too brittle.

These are solid, easy to work with, and I was surprised to find, unlike the previous single track, you don't have to adjust the placement of shelves around the areas where the few screws are in the strip. The brackets clip in right over the screws. It allowed me to put in an extra shelf that I didn't expect to be able to.
