Installation: concrete block wall or aluminum studs

Can this product be installed in a concrete block wall? If so, what is the recommended way to do that? My other option is a drywall installation into aluminum studs. Can it be installed on that kind of wall as well? If so, how to do that?
Asked by: Munit22
Yes, I would either use concrete anchors or tapcon screws. I put mine into metal studs where the spacing called for, then used the drywall anchors that came with the kit to fill in the other spaces. My studs were 24" on center. Drill the 1/8" hole through the drywall and into the stud to create a pilot hole. Then use the screws supplied minus the anchor to screw into the stud.

After a false procedural step initially, I realized that the best procedure is to locate the studs, draw the horizontal line, then place the rod and drill the two end holes. Place screws in the end holes and mark the other holes. Remove one screw. Then drilling the other holes and inserting the anchors and screws is easy. The final mounted rod and hooks are very sturdy, work well to hold the tools, and look great. I highly recommend the product.

I installed it in my shed for garden tools etc. about a month ago and have had no issues with its use at all. The reason for the 4 stars vs 5 is the hardware (screws) provided. They are cheap 'soft' steel phillip head screws which stripped very easily. I was able to get them in but I don't hold any hope of ever removing them.

A bit challenging to match up studs with predrilled holes in the rod….nothing a few drywall anchors couldn't fix. Overall the system is a great quality product with easy/adjustable brackets. Great garage upgrade!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple/Effective This system was really easy to put up, if your studs aren't 16" you can drill into the bracket with ease to costumize your screw holes. Helps keep the garage uncluttered and seems to be very sturdy. I would reccommend this product.
