Customer Questions & Answers

Is this the closest color spray paint to "polished brass"?

Asked by: lee
In my opinion I think that it is. A caveat would be dependent on what type of material you are spray painting and it undercoating, i.e., primer, bare wood, etc.

Is this good for out door use? Is it waterproof?

Asked by: Mia
Rust-Oleum Specialty Metallic Spray Paint is recommended for use on interior decorative items only because of the leafing pigments that help give its metallic finish. We also do not recommend our products for use on surfaces that are constantly immersed in water since water is an aggressive environment for paint and the constant expose can cause blistering and peeling. For a more durable metallic finish, check out Rust-Oleum Universal Spray Paint and Primer in One which offers a few different metallic finishes that are suitable for outdoor use! http://www.homedepot.com/s/rust%2520oleum%2520universal?NCNI-5&style=List&s_tnt=82648:1:0

11 oz. Metallic Gold Spray Paint (6-Pack) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 79.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful finish! I've used this gold spray paint to update so many things around my house. I've spray painted little knick knacks, a desk lamp, flower pots, and a coffee table frame. All have turned out beautifully with two coats. It doesn't create a true mirrored finish like the cap would lead you to believe, but it's plenty shiny. Just be careful to spray from a distance because it will glob and bubble up if you spray it on too thick. Luckily I practiced first and learned my lesson on something I didn't care about. I plan on using it for some other desk accessories and picture frames next.

I sprayed the gold paint right on top of the black. I didn't sand and I had to use it outside in cold weather. If I had sanded the frames and been able to paint during warmer weather I think I would have been completely satisfied with the product. They ended up turning black in some spots because it was so cold. I had to add a couple more coats to cover the black and that caused some drips. Overall the product was good... the color was a great gold metallic and it was easy to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality gold spray paint glossy This item is quite easy to apply to clean, dry and properly prepared surfaces. In the case that I used it in it was on lightly sanded chrome surface. Applied it looks glossy but not as reflective as the can top. Application was done on an open space with good air flow. It applies easily and if done with proper movement during the spraying operation doesn't run or drip. Dries in just a few minutes, enough that the item painted can be handled.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from True, Shimmering Gold I had a few items around my house that I wanted to update with a true gold finish, so I bought this spray paint as well as the "Metallic Pure Gold" also made by Rustoleum. This is far and away a much "truer" gold. The other color bordered on bronze, had very little shimmer, and was much flatter in color. (Looks exactly like the color on the lid). This also has great, forgiving coverage. When I was done, the items literally looked as though I'd dipped them in liquid gold. Much easier than gold leaf paint, and just as good. If you'd like to make like King Midas and gilt items around your house, this is the spray paint for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent spray on paint that dries fast! This Rust-Oleum Gold spray paint is fantastic, great color, dries fast, and looks really nice on the object spray painted. It sprays evenly and dried very quickly on metal objects. It did not drip (do make a light spray and not spray too much at once) and looks like it is part of the object, not a coat sprayed on. My daughter uses it in her Wedding business and she just fell in love with it. There ya go!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for decorating This metallic spray paint is great!!! I took 5 plain picture frames, a plain wood chair and a small wood box. I took them outside, laid out newspaper, and painted these items. I waited for them to dry. When I put these items around my living room , the place looked fantastic!! These items all painted this fabulous gold lit up and coordinated my room.

I used it for 3 table based, the size of my hand to use as centerpieces for my baby shower and it was OVER!!!! I asked one of the representatives in painting area to give me the spray to make sure it was not use or anything! I finish the rest of my decor with only 1 can from the one that I purchased on Walmart. rip off!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This new Rustoleum paint is horrible! Absolutely unusable. The old paint... This new Rustoleum paint is horrible! Absolutely unusable. The old paint had a gorgeous color, dried in minutes and didn't have a strong smell. The new paint has a different cap (wide instead) therefore makes spot spraying almost impossible. The color is horrid, it's not gold metallic anymore
