Can you use Rust-Oleum Protective Enamel Gloss Spray Paint to paint PVC?

Asked by: Mickey
It can, however the durability of adhesion on PVC can be subject to the use of the PVC object. If it's not subjected to abrasion, it should hold up quite well. If the PVC is in an abrasive use application, you might find that it does not adhere/last too long. Also look at their line of paints for plastics. These tend to adhere & last far longer and may be better suited for your intended use.

12 oz. Black Protective Enamel Gloss Spray Paint is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Don't need to spring for expensive spray paint If you need black, this will get you good results, no need to pay for the more expensive ones. Just follow the directions about prep, light even strokes and dry time and you won't have any issues. I sprayed over black metal that was 30 years old and spent a lot of time outside.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Durable, Gloss Black Provides durable finish. Key to a quality finish starts with quality prep work. A poorly prepared surface will result in a poor paint finish. Clean, smooth surface, primer, sand, primer, paint, clear coat for best finish. Yes, there are more elaborate steps but you get the idea. Don't skimp on prep work. As for the paint ... it is easy to apply. Overcoat or topcoat within an hour and dries fast. Lasts good, even in an outdoor application. Glossy finish. Spray it at virtually any angle so the tough to get to spots aren't so tough anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ain't Lookin' Junky Now!! I used this paint to spray over the rocker panel of my old Jeep where it was rusting out, and to try to stop the rust from advancing as a quick fix so my car wouldn't look so junky until I could get the rocker panel replaced. It matched my paint finish exactly, and it seemed like it helped to reinforce the rocker panels where they were rusting out. Since the rocker panels looked pretty good, I sprayed some paint in a little cap, and I used a paint brush to touch up paint chips around the car and to fill in larger places where the paint peeled off on the plastic fender flares and bumpers. You can't really tell unless you start looking really hard. I got lucky, because my car is black, and this paint matched exactly.
