If I had read the instructions and watched the video on how to wind it, I would have been a happy man. I chewed up line and chewed up the head. Once I watched the video I figured out that it works great!!

Great replacement for my Ryobi 4 cycle gas powered "weed wacker." Supplied with components for straight or angled shafts. Takes literally minutes to uninstall your original string head with this replacement. Looks and designed like the original Ryobi product. Priced just right!

I bought this thing today and I took the line and micro waved it in water for three minutes to straighten it out. I wound it on the spool and it worked perfectly eliminating a lot if grief from my old trimmer head

Bought this trimmer head and all it did was unwind. Wound it both directions and just unwinds.

Due to our property layout, I replace the trimmer head every 2 years on my Ryobi 4 cycle straight trimmer. Works as good as or better than the original unit! FIVE STAR RATING!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by saberblue01 stripped plastic head/does not feed out
I basically bought three of these with two having the same problem. I NEVER got the string to feed out after bumping it,which caused my two problems. After trying to bump the head to feed out, the plastic head (red in my case) rounded over the capture nock of the hex head bolt thus making it useless. Bought another because when it did work, it was good, however, I ALWAYS had to stop the Ryobi trimmer and manually advance the string. Today, it did it again. Rounded the palstic knob. Literally you have to chisel it off. Actually bought another brand but it didn't fit, so had to buy another one of these. There is no instructions on how to torque knob, how much to leave loose, and other instructions has to how to properly tighten. Too loose seems to strip/round the plastc, too tight and it won't feed. FYI, I tried it this evening and it still won't feed out after bumping. Back to stopping and manually feeding string out.

Way easy to assemble and use. Very sturdy and durable. Finally, input of the line is a dream. Great design for the aftermarket. This design should have been on the original Ryobi weed wacker.
