Does it come with a blade

Example: I have looked at the manual and can't figure out what I did wrong.
Asked by: Michelle
It does, but it is only for a rough cut. I purchased a better blade to make nicer cuts.

15 Amp 12 in. Sliding Miter Saw with Laser is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 80.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great buy for the money OK, first, this is not a contractors tool. It is a very handy one for part-time use. Price is decent. I have used the 90 degree setting mostly, and found that like most saws, the 90 degrees angle setting (0) is slightly off compared to the angle squares I use. Not a problem, just set it slightly off of 0 degrees and lock it down. Done. Slides smoothly. For the foreseen work I will use it for, I do not see me ever wearing it out. I gave it 4 stars because the board hold down is fiddly, gets in the way with saw operation, and it is hard to set-up a jig for cutting same size pieces because of the shape of the fence.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Just ok miter saw for the price I purchased this saw during one of the great sales. I saw the price and decided it was a good time to replace my old saw. At first everything seemed good, changed the blade and aligned according to the procedures in the owners manual. Everything in check, adjusted the fussy laser and figured out how it really worked. I cut base trim and quarter rounds all seem to cut just fine. Recently I decided to cut some 12" boards for a book shelf and when I did a test run with the laser on the board did not appear to be square. I rechecked the alignment and seemed OK. I drew a line on a test board with my combo square and cut the board about 1/2" deep - the wide cut did not cut square. Now that I am way past the 90 day return policy and have to deal with support tickets and hope it can be repaired. Note to self --- be sure to check all types of cuts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good buy for the $ Compared to other name brand 12" miter saws, ryobi holds its own. I laid 1000' sq ft of 12MM laminate flooring. This tool with its laser guide worked excellent. Throughout the job I did notice a few things to note: #1- 90 degree cut wasn't true 90. I had to adjust to find true 90 and lock it in. I marked it on the protractor and returned to the true 90 mark when needed #2- the stock hold down gets in the way when you make angle cuts so be mindful of that if you get stopped near the end of the cut and wonder what stopped you #3- small cuts get stuck in miter gap and you must unscrew 6 screws to clean them out. A little inconvenient Overall, I am very pleased and has forced me to look into other ryobi tools to replace my aging fleet.

This is literally my first power tool purchase EVER, unless you count a drill. I am definitely a fledgling do-it-herself-er. After paying a contractor what seemed like an enormous amount of money to hang crown molding in a small bathroom, when I saw the process I thought it just couldn't be that hard. This saw, along with the universal miter bench has paid for itself in the few days that I have owned it. I have to admit, I started out terrified of using a power saw and losing a few fingers or a hand. However, I watched several safety videos on You Tube, as well as watching a video on how to un-box this saw and check that everything was square. I am happy to say everything was square out of the box. Several days later, I now have a custom made radiator cover with shelf as well as a living room full of crown and base molding. And it really was not hard... in fact, even in a house that was greater than 100 years old where NOTHING was square, it was easier to cut and install base molding than it is to put a zipper in clothing. I really loved the laser, which made it very easy for me to visualize where a cut would be going before I made it. After I was comfortable with cutting straight cuts and 45 degree miter cuts and 45 degree angle cuts and had a good feel for how this operated, I was able to easily adjust to get angled cuts where the top of the molding had to be 1/4 inch longer than the bottom of the molding just because of that lack of a square surface. It was very very easy to adjust for miter and angle cuts. If there was one thing I didn't care for was that angle cuts can't be made great than 45 degrees. I'd like the option to go to 50. The only other down side.. when making 45 degree angle cuts, the clamp that is included was often in the way. I really prefer to clamp my work than manually hold it in, though I had to do that when I was working with short length of molding anyway. On the other hand, I do love the fact that with this sliding saw, I can cut lengths up to 13 inches. This should be enough for me to build nearly anything I would want in my house, short of kitchen or bathroom cabinetry. I also like the fact that the adjustable depth feature should allow me to make dados for some of the future projects I have planned. I don't have enough large projects planned for me to buy tons of power equipment... and I feel this has enough versatility to do almost anything I would need a power saw for.

Great value. Most other sliding compound miters are much more expensive. I particularly like the laser for lining up the cuts. The only negative about it is that it is hard to see in direct sunlight. Not sure if there is a fix for that. Hasn't been a real problem for me since I am mostly in the shade. I also like that the table is 3.5 inches high. I am using a long table and I put 4x4's at each end to help hold long lumber.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from it came well built and pretty much assembled and ready to use. It comes with a framing blade so ... it came well built and pretty much assembled and ready to use. It comes with a framing blade so I had to change it to one with alot more teeth for the detailed work I was doing-not a big deal, that's just part of owning any saw. It's only a single bevel but I knew that going in and the next saw up in price that was available at the time that had double bevel was well over twice the cost. It cuts well and has been reliable in the short time since I purchased it. However in that short time I have made well over a thousand cuts/cycles of all kinds-exploiting every feature. So I think that's saying something. The laser light guide was as straight and as accurate as anything else I have used. It's more than versatile enough for the average (or above average) homeowner to make swift work of a wide range of projects. Of course, if you haven't used one alot then I would suggest investing in, and taking the time to setup a proper table/workstation to that it can be used to its full potential. They sell these all over but I have always done better by buying some lumber and saw horses and making myself to fit my needs. If you want to have a very decent saw for a very reasonable budget, this one is a good choice. Kobalt makes a double bevel and is slightly more robust for only $299, but I'm not familiar with the longevity or durability of that one. However, if you have the money to spend $600 or more, then why not go with a professional grade. I use this for work and I travel with it to job sights almost daily, which is something that is a bit more difficult with my professional grade saw. Solid buy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great saw with some adjusting This is a great saw but you need to make some adjustments when it comes out of the box. The saw wasn't completely square or at an exact 90° cut. (Neither of which i noticed until i was cutting some wide material: 2x12s) But those are both quickly fixed with the help of a square. You will probably also have to adjust the laser a little. I know I did. I'm not too crazy about the split laser design. It is split when the saw arm is up but as you bring it down it zeros into a single line which is directly where the blade will cut. A little tricky until you get used to it. But overall a good buy for any diyer or pro.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good I If you're right handed, you take measures from right side of material. Laser shows left side of cutting blade, so need to add thickness of blade to get exact measure.
